Alicea has helped me on numerous occasions, but two stand out. My young rescue dog did not like my elderly dog, Lucy. She would growl every time she saw Lucy, and lunged and snapped at her multiple times. I was very afraid I would have to take her back to the rescue before she hurt poor old Lucy. I didn't want to; I was the fourth person this rescue dog had been placed with. Alicea helped me to first help Winnie not to react to Lucy, and then actually get excited to see Lucy. It was amazing. Some years later, I rescued a Jack Russell terrier I named Joey. He had been surrendered at less than a year old because he was "untrainable". He was starving and not at all house trained. He was so afraid of humans initiating contact with him that he would run around me in circles and bark at me. He wouldn't let me touch his collar. He was not aggressive; just afraid. Alicea helped me earn his trust. By following her advice, I was quickly able to house train him. He really began to thrive and loved everybody he met. He was the best friend anybody could have.
