Bandana Dog Training

Joe's approach to training was so refreshing and so effective! We did in-person lessons with our newly adopted PACC two-year-old who was pretty chill already but had some basic manners to learn and a few quirks. The lessons are really for you and you have to do the work outside of the lessons to see progress; however, you will understand why you're doing what you're doing and why your dog does what they do. That sounds obvious but Joe breaks everything down in a way that made for many "ah-ha!" moments. I have had several dogs and wish Joe had been there to help me with all of them! Joe and Lisa are very accomodating with scheduling, too.

We began working with Joe when our puppy was four months old. We began with private sessions and then did the 10 day board and train. We could not have been happier with the results and highly recommend following that course of action. Something happened last night that made me extremely grateful for Joe and the work he did...When I was walking our now one year old dog we came upon another dog who was overly excited as we passed. My dog has been trained to not pull or get overly excited when we walk past another dog. However, I am extremely pregnant and must have put his leash on incorrectly because all of a sudden my dog is without a leash as we are crossing the street after ur encounter. We both realize this and my dog freezes. I recall him and he looks at the dog we just passed and then looks at me and comes right to me! This situation could have been much worse but due to the training I was able to recall him immediately and reconnect his leash. This is one of the many instances where I am thankful for our training with Joe.

Highly recommended! We appreciated that Joe was willing to work with our whole family (2 adults and 2 older kids) so we could all be on the same page for training and commands with our newly adopted 2 year old dog. We wanted to work on basic training and leash manners (including reducing pulling and reactivity to other dogs). Joe provided an overall training plan and specific feedback after observing each of us with the dog to maximize the effectiveness of the training. After a short series of lessons, we are all more confident in our dog training abilities!

We have used Bandana Dog Training for both of our dogs (German Shepherd and Golden Doodle). Joe is an amazing trainer and has done a great job not only in helping us train the dogs, but in training us as dog owners as well. Joe provides an excellent foundation and framework on helping us understand how our dogs think and why they behave the way they do. Joe has provided excellent solutions to address dog behavioral issues as well as a solid regimen of training lessons and techniques that have made training our dogs very easy to implement and maintain. Joe is an excellent instructor, very personable, and has that magic touch with dogs that always results in a breakthrough with our dog training and communication. As a result, our dogs have been transformed into well behaved and well trained dogs. We highly recommend Bandana Dog Training to anyone who has dog training needs!
