John is the best!! We'd looked for weeks trying to find the right training for our puppy, but every program was wildly expensive and many used shock collars or other forms of negative feedback. Our puppy was extraordinarily anxious and would nip and growl at almost anyone she saw-- including people who lived with us-- so we knew that type of training would do more harm than good for her. Thankfully we found Balanced Pooches and within a week she had her first lesson, within two weeks she was attentive and clearly calmer, and by the third week she was a completely different dog and far more well behaved than I had ever imagined a puppy could be! John's fun, engaging training techniques made the whole experience a breeze and I'm now using the same routine to train my old dog new tricks (and better manners). I wholeheartedly recommend John to anyone and am so grateful we found him!

There are obviously countless approaches to dog training out there, but our family really appreciated John’s specific approach. He was so kind to and patient with our dogs, and with us, as we all went along in the learning process. I wasn’t sure there was a lot of hope to correct some of our dogs’ behaviors, but we saw so much improvement even in just 3 training sessions. I truly believe that consistently using the tools John gave us will help us all get where we want to be. Thank you, John!!

John was called to help us train our 2 doxies to follow commands and sleep better in their crates. In 3 lessons plus daily practice (15 minutes or so per dog per day), our dogs sleep in their crates without whining or barking and follow basic commands well. He trains you to train the dogs. The next month will be about reinforcing what we have already taught them and then we'll move on to tricks and fun stuff. John's methods are easy, effective, and allow you to branch off and expand their abilities. We got our small children involved and they now love their pooches and playing with them. We highly recommend John and Balanced Pooches!
