Julia was amazing with helping me learn and prepare for introducing my Jack Russel Terrier to my newborn. By the end of the session I was confident and able to back him off the toy baby we practiced with and have him walk nicely next to the stroller without pulling and stopping every 5 seconds to sniff something. I loved taking my dog with me wherever I went and with Julia's help I was able to do so with confidence that he would be a well behaved doggy citizen.

My experience with the Eugene Dog Whisperer was absolutely horrific. I got my first puppy, who was extremely hyper and had some issues as a young pup. Knowing he was an unusual case and difficult, I looked for a trainer and found Julia. We went to two sessions. The first she suggested a prong collar. He was terrified of it and started crying when it would tighten. He was only about four or five months old!!!! My goal was for him to not pull so much. I worked with him that week so he was doing better and would stay relatively close to me. The second class she said "You aren't willing to make him squeal as loudly as he did last week." What?!?! My goal was not to hurt my puppy! It was to be able to work with him! Those words still ring in my ears over three years later. Absolutely appalling. I later found a dog trainer that used positive reinforcement methods, unlike Julia's negative methods. He is happy, healthy, and LOVES positive training. Any reputable dog trainer would do enough research to learn Cesar Millan's methods are a joke. I'm so glad I stopped with Julia right away and didn't do more damage to my dog. There is never a reason to put a prong collar on a dog, especially a puppy. It's methods like this that make dogs hide their warning signs until one day the dog bites and people say it came out of nowhere. Find a trainer that uses positive reinforcement methods and save both you and your dog a lot of heartache!!
