Auburn Leach K9 Academy

I honestly would never recommend this place to anyone. I’m so extremely disappointed with my experience with Auburn or more so my lack there of. Auburn basically talks a lot of talk but does not back it up, and he gives the same bogus speech to everyone that comes in (as he did to several people I know that also brought their dogs to him). Backstory, my dog Nahli is a German Shepherd. We got her at 6 months old and she came from a very abusive home, where she also had 0 socialization. When me and my husband first got her it started out with her just being afraid of other people, (running away, whimpering, hiding). But then I guess her fight or flight kicked in and she chose fight. Her fear aggressive got so bad we were terrified to take her for walks outside if there was anyone else outside within seeing distance. We tried for months to socialize her and train her but nothing was working and our hearts were breaking for her. So we reached out to auburn. When she was brought in we explained he situation, auburn acted like he totally understood but she would be an easy case none the less. So she was there for 3 weeks. When she was finally returned home she was about 5 lbs thinner, and seemed terrified of Mike (the one who brought her back and seemed to be the only one that worked with her, not auburn). We were told mike would come back every few weeks to check in on nahli. He care back once after the initial drop off. When he came in Nahli freaked out and was barking and growling at Mike. Mikes exact words were “oh so she has aggression issues now”....well Yeah that’s been the issue this whole time, that’s why we sent her to you! He didn’t seem to understand that that was the issue all along, so I don’t think they even worked on that. She did better for maybe 2 months or so with other people, but was still very unpredictable and would have spouts of aggression. While she was doing better with people she all of a sudden had terrible animal aggression when she came back. And now a year later is just as bad as she was to begin with even though we’ve been continuing the things they told us to do. I have not heard from Mike or anyone at Auburn Leach since the first check up. We wasted so much money in a desperate attempt to get our girl some help. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY.

We took our hound, Finnegan, to Auburn for some significant behavior issues. Finnegan was a neglected rescued hound with serious resource guarding issues. He would not obey us, he would growl at us and try to boss us around. We did not feel safe in our own home. It was bad. After 3 weeks of trading by Michael Sours at Auburn Leach K9, we have a new family member. Finnegan came home a new dog. Michael delivered Finnegan and we worked for a couple of hours. He took his time to ensure we were trained. Finnegan is happy and exceptionally well-behaved. We could not be happier with the results. 5 star results. We recommend them without reserve. UPDATE 8 months later: Thanks to the training, Finn is a great dog who is happy and well behaved. Finn and the family are all well trained!

I regret ever bringing my dog to Auburn for training. My phone calls were not returned to coordinate pick up of my dog. Finally, when I got more insistent in my messages, he returned my call and told me that my dog had not made progress because of a wound that he got in the beginning that would not heal. My dog ended up needing to have his tail amputated. I also received an unsolicited text picture of a different dog stating that I should think about trading for this dog in picture and he would find a new home for my dog as my dog was not making progress in training. PLEASE take your dog somewhere else!
