Art & Science Dog Training

We are so happy with Art & Science Dog Training! Lauri has been working with our 6 month old puppy for several weeks. Lauri did a wonderful job getting to know our dog and assessing where he was with training and what he needed to work on. They have been wonderful at working with me and my whole family to explain training methods and guiding us on how to use the training tools and reinforce the learnings on our own. Our dog lights up when Lauri enters the room and sits by the door when they leave, hoping they will return. I appreciate that Lauri is tailoring the training to our individual dog and getting to know what triggers him so that they can work though that during the training. I also like the combination of training in our home and out in our neighborhood so that both the dog and our family can practice in both settings. Our dog is so happy with Lauri and he has progressed wonderfully with the training. Lauri is a talented trainer and warm & professional to work with. I'm thrilled we found Art & Science Dog Training!

Lauri is an incredible dog trainer, not just because she has been so good with our wild little dog, but also because she has been patiently teaching me to be a good dog owner and she was masterful in helping my children get involved in Pebbles's training. Pebbles, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is a fun but wild little dog and Lauri has consistently worked with her to become well mannered and socialized inside and outside of the house. Lauri has spent time helping me learn how to reinforce the training in her sessions at home. And when my pre-teen and teenage children were reluctant to get involved in the training, Lauri held a session with the kids in which they were engaged and excited to work with Pebbles too. Working with Lauri has been a wonderful experience for our family because we know she loves and cares for Pebbles and she has helped us become a better family for our beloved pup.

We have been working with Lauri for several months since our Bernedoodle, Poppy, was about 5 months old. To put it simply, Lauri has been nothing short of incredible. When we first started working with them, Poppy was just learning to walk on a leash and despite our best efforts, she had tons of energy and didn't know the proper and polite ways to redirect that to both dogs and people. When I first reached out to Lauri, my words were “We just don’t know what we don’t know” - we were afraid that we were inadvertently teaching our puppy unintended behaviors without even realizing it. Since working with Lauri, she has become much more well mannered in greeting and playing with other dogs, more confident in taking on the city and the various surprises that it throws her way. The difference has been amazing in such a short time - we had a friend who saw us on in a coffee shop the other day and remarked on what a well behaved pup and how different she was from a few months prior. We have also been working with Lauri on skills inside the house - training both Poppy and us on house manners and how to desensitize her to outside sounds, passerbys, and neighbors in the backyard. Lauri provides us with drills that we can do on our own to reinforce the skills that they are working on with her, and the Friday coaching sessions have been instrumental in training US as well to continually maintain the training. Lauri's love for animals is so clear - and Poppy's love for them equally so. Poppy waits by the door each day for Lauri to get here. When we were searching for an R+ trainer we talked to several other trainers and truly believe that we could not have made a better decision. We highly highly recommend Lauri to anyone looking for an incredible, kind, and effective trainer!

I spent a lot of time searching for a positive reinforcement dog trainer before finding Lauri. Having lived in three different cities, I’ve worked with multiple R+ trainers, and Lauri was by far my favorite. My dog did 1:1 training with Lauri (and Lauri trained me too! 😊), joined group walks (which were AMAZING!), and even stayed at Lauri's house for two weeks while I was on vacation. I sometimes think about moving back to San Francisco just to work with Lauri again! Thanks to Lauri, my doodle became a more confident dog with a solid recall and came home fulfilled every day after walking with Lauri’s group. I can’t recommend Lauri enough! Also - I am very particular about my dogs safety and I trusted Lauri more than I even trust myself to keep her safe!
