Art of the Dog Canine Academy

Art of the Dog has been a game changer for my German Shepherd, and Natalie was amazing to work with. My dog gets highly fixated on other dogs, squirrels, and rabbits during walks, and I had tried just about everything to get his attention back with little success. Natalie took the time to understand his behavior and gave us the tools and confidence to work through his reactivity. The difference has been incredible. Walks are much less stressful, and he's much calmer, more focused, and easier to redirect when distractions come up. You can tell Natalie genuinely cares about the dogs she works with and wants both the dog and owner to succeed. I highly recommend Art of the Dog to anyone looking for professional, effective training.

At first I was so apprehensive at leaving my pooch for three weeks. For him as well as for me. AOD was so understanding and caring - the daily videos of him working with the trainer (who was beyond fabulous!) as well as the training videos designed for me to learn how to handle my dog, AND the daily reports were extremely helpful and appreciated. Not only that, they kept a very sharp eye out for any signs of distress or discomfort and reported back to me any causes for concern. My dog was so well cared for when at their facility. It was truly a great relief for me. AOD wants you and your pup to succeed as much as you do and they work very hard to make this happen. Once home, they check in to make sure things are going well, promptly answer questions, have a library of videos to help demonstrate further training and issues that may arise. Plus lifetime support - just an incredible institution and training. They’ve earned far and above the 5 stars I could give them. I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to recommend them for dog training to anyone and everyone and their pups!

I can’t say enough good things about Art of the Dog Canine Academy! We enrolled our 8-year-old mixed breed in their behavior modification program, and honestly, we were very skeptical. She’s older, incredibly stubborn, and we weren’t sure anyone could really help her. We were worried we’d spend the money and not see much of a difference. Thankfully, we were completely wrong. From the very beginning, the communication was amazing. We received constant updates with pictures and videos, which made us feel like we were part of her journey the entire time. At first, she looked nervous and unsure of everything, but after just a couple of days, you could see the change. She looked happy, relaxed, confident, and genuinely loved everyone there. It was clear they treated her like family, not just another dog. One thing that really stood out was how much they cared about her well-being. If she skipped a meal, lost a little weight, or even had a small mark that wasn’t there before, they reached out to us right away to let us know and ask how we’d like to handle it. That kind of honesty and communication is hard to find these days and meant a lot to us. The training itself exceeded every expectation. They don’t use methods that cause pain or fear. Instead, they teach the dog how to understand what’s being asked of them, and the results speak for themselves. During the graduation handoff, they didn’t just give us our dog back—they made sure we knew exactly how to continue her training at home. Like any stubborn dog, she tested us a little after coming home, but thanks to everything they taught us, it was easy to get her back on track. They also sent us home with all the proper equipment and showed us exactly how to use it. The price was the reason we were hesitant with them. We spent a lot of time researching different trainers, reading reviews, and comparing programs. Art of the Dog Canine Academy kept coming out on top. They offered flexible payment options that made the investment much more manageable, and after seeing the results firsthand, we can confidently say it was worth every penny. If you’re hesitant because your dog is older or you think they’re “too stubborn” to change, don’t let that stop you. Our dog proved us wrong, and Art of the Dog Canine Academy made it happen. They truly care about every dog, they genuinely care about their clients, and they go above and beyond every step of the way. This place is great, we are very happy that our dog Raya went through the training program. The staff kept us updated on her progress everyday with photos and videos. We have definitely seen a huge improvement in her abilities. I have a better understanding of how I need to keep up her training and it’s great they Offer a lifetime of training if we ever need it. I’m happy to know that we can bring her to a place she is familiar with and see her trainers again if we were ever going on vacation too, it’s always stressful to find a dog sitter. Highly recommended this place, they know what they’re doing here! Thanks everyone!!!!

It is impossible to express how pleased we are with our Art of the Dog experience. Our nerves at drop off with Jett (7 month old) immediately subsided when our trainer and the head trainer started a group text chat for updates. Throughout the 3 weeks, we got daily update pictures, videos and write-ups. They take every precaution to make sure every single pup is safe which was what really set AOD apart from the other training facilities. Our trainer, Emily, was outstanding! At pick up, it was so obvious how much she loved and cared for Jett. Day 1, he has settled back into home life very well, walks are enjoyable for Jett and us, and we could not be happier with everything he learned! If you are thinking about making the leap with your pup and family…do it with AOD! They are simply the best and you maybe you’ll get lucky enough to have Emily as your trainer.
