Great trainers with the skills to work with a variety of dogs. We were desperate to find a dog training company that could help us and our two dogs before they killed each other. I’m serious. I enrolled my dog-reactive German Shepherd in the 3-week board and train program, and I’m so glad I did. When I picked her up, I had a thorough 2-hour session where I learned how to continue reinforcing her training and how to better support her going forward. While she still has her moments, I’ve noticed it’s usually when I start slipping back into old habits — a clear reminder that consistency is key. AOD laid a solid foundation for both of us. They helped me recognize what I was doing wrong and how to make real changes. Our walks are so much more manageable now, and our slow morning routines are peaceful instead of stressful. We could not be happier with the results of Harley's training with the entire Art of the Dog team! Worth every penny. Writing this about 5 months after Harley's board & train, to make sure the training really stuck. Before his 3-week board & train session, we took an entirely positive-reinforcement training approach with our dog. While he was quite well-mannered and an almost perfect angel-puppy indoors, it was becoming untenable to walk our ~90-pound dog. He could not stop pulling on the leash! Similarly, while hiking off leash, he came back to us 90% of the time, but for the other 10%, we were left hoping he would return to us without veering off to eat something he shouldn't or chase a critter that was more enticing than our treats. Like many of those new to Balanced Training and the e-collar approach, we were hesitant to use that tactic.
