Argos Dog Training

I literally CANNOT put into words how much I love Argos! I got a rescue pitty in early June, and after doing research about local Boston dog trainers, it was clear that Argos was highly regarded - I wasn't sure what to expect, but MAN did they deliver. Not only are Martin, Jonathan and Luc extremely knowledgeable, but they are responsive, flexible, patient and on top of all that, they make training FUN. If I could give Argos 10 stars I would - not gonna lie, I miss these guys, and so does my pup!

My 7-year-old lab/husky mix and I did 6 individual sessions with Jonathan followed by 6 group sessions. Although my dog and I have done previous training and obedience work, both he and I needed a review... we were experiencing some reactivity toward other dogs while on walks, which was making me nervous and embarrassed. Working with Jonathan was great. He is an incredibly skilled trainer and overall great guy -- we looked forward to training with him every week. He's professional and no-nonsense while also approachable and understanding; He never made me feel like my questions were dumb or that I couldn't overcome any obstacle I was experiencing with a little patience and practice. One thing I really appreciate about Argos is that their training methodology is consistent with national best practice that I've seen from other great trainers we've worked with. Martin (owner) attends conferences all over the country for continuing education and to improve and evolve his training philosophy. This consistency is great for my dog (and me) when we move around the country, as we're doing now. If I were staying in Boston longer I would definitely enroll my dog in the structured daycare program -- which sounds amazing and such a better investment than regular daycare where my dog just sits around anxious all day -- and continue doing group classes and pack walks. It's so much fun to train with Argos and has been a great relationship builder for my dog and me. The investment is not trivial, but it's just that -- an investment. And it is what you make of it. If you're committed to changing your own behavior in how you communicate with your dog, you will absolutely get the results you want. But it's honestly more about training yourself than your dog. Bottom line: Cannot recommend more highly. We will miss you, Argos... come to Chicago! :)
