Ann Becnel Companion Dogs

I highly recommend Ann’s classes for dogs of all ages and abilities! We adopted a 6 month old three legged golden mix pup last year. She was unruly and chaotic and I lacked the confidence and skills to train her properly at home. We signed up for classes with Ann and my dog and I have completely transformed over the past few months! Ann’s way of teaching classes is very accommodating for dogs and owners of all levels - there are modifications to all her exercises to make them easier or more difficult if need be. The classes are fun and engaging for both the owners and their dogs. They’re fantastic not just for correcting your dog’s behavior but also for bonding with your 4 (in our case 3) legged companion.

I highly recommend Ann Becnel! My husband and I rescued a Cocker Spaniel one year ago who struggled with some aggression and resource guarding. We found Ann through other great reviews and called her right away. My husband took Russell (our dog) to classes every Sunday morning for 8 weeks and by the end, he was so much more confident and secure in his new home. He even knew when it was Sunday morning and was always so excited to go to training. We are thinking of buying even more class packs just because Russell loved it so much. I love that Ann only trains through positive reinforcement and we truly can't thank her enough.

Ann Becnel's classes are great. I'm on my second set of lessons as my dog has gotten a little older. I've had dogs for many years and found other training techniques ineffective and, well, just not fun until I attended Ann Becnel's class. I joined Ann Becnel's class to train our German Shepherd, Sasha, an extremely high energy, easily distracted and powerful dog. When Sasha started, she was difficult to control and easily distracted. But within a few weeks of lessons, Ann's calm and patient demeanor along with obvious years of experience and skill training all breeds, made Sasha's unique problems manageable, and we have fun too. I was concerned that the group classes would focus on the smaller dogs, but Ann took the time to work with each dog's individual needs. And Ann's good enough that she can spot and peg a dog's good and bad habits right from the start. She supplements her classes with instructional videos that I would never have been able to find in the haystack of online lessons out there. We may have had to give up on Sasha if it weren't for Ann. Ann's classes are fabulous! We did one in-home session with both of our dogs (our senior dog as well as our new puppy) and then have been doing the group classes with our puppy. Ann only uses positive reinforcement training (primarily using a clicker), which is extremely effective and not cruel or negative in any way to your dog. She truly does show you that you don't need to use "dominance" training or any punitive means like electric collars or spraying with water. Her dogs that she trains are incredibly well behaved. I've seen so much growth in our puppy in the few months that we've been working with her, and I truly do believe any problem you are having with your dog can be improved through her positive reinforcement training. And even with the group classes, she's willing to answer individual questions about problems or issues you may be having with your dog. Could not recommend more!
