Ann Becnel Companion Dogs

I brought my dog to both Ann's puppy classes and Canine Good Citizen classes! These classes were extremely helpful, my dog and I walked away from each class having learned something new as well as having the opportunity to practice previously learned skills. Ann was always available to give individual feedback during class and answer questions specific to my dog. Classes are well paced, directions are always clear, as well as expectations for dogs and humans!

Ann holds a special place in my heart! I met with two trainers before her who told me my dog was the worst they'd seen and they couldn't help me. I decided to call Ann and immediately upon meeting, I could tell I was in the right place. It was obvious to me right away that she was very experienced in dog training. It was the first meet up with a trainer that my dog didn't bark the whole entire time. Fast forward to now, my dog is all things made new. I found it was much more about retraining me and my behavior around my dog. I never could've expected the transformation we've experienced thanks to her non invasive technique. She has never forced my dog into an uncomfortable situation and for that reason, he trusts being around her. She has so much experience and knowledge under her belt. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of dog training help!!

There aren’t enough words to explain how grateful we are to Ann! She is truly an expert in dog training and there is not a dog she can’t handle. After our first class and seeing how high strung our rescue dog was compared to other dogs, we did not think he could get to that place, but Ann never gave up on our dog. Our dog is very well behaved, controlled, and calm now. Positive reinforcement is absolutely the way to train your dog to truly be your companion. Our dog trusts us, and that is through Ann’s teachings and our training. Don’t think your dog is ever too much to handle and can’t be trained because positive reinforcement will work wonders! It just takes time, patience, and a whole lot of treats! 🐾🐾

I recently adopted my third pooch, Nelson, from the LASPCA, where I am a volunteer. He is a wonderful addition to the family, but he needed some training mainly to make his daily dog walks more enjoyable for both himself and yours truly. Nelson gets too worked up on all the distractions in the environment especially other dogs behind fences or on walks with their owners. Ann Becnel came highly recommended by my veterinarian, Dr. Emily, with Maple Small Animal Clinic. I just completed my third training session (one every two weeks) with Ann and with my following the daily training regime provided by Ann, I am totally pleased with Nelson's progress. He is changing his focus from external environmental distractions to focusing on me, which is the goal. As a result, he is learning very well with the positive result in much more pleasurable dog walks and other daily interactions for both Nelson and myself.
