Andrea Arden Dog Training

We purchased 2 puppies at the same time (diff breeds) and were overwhelmed. I reached out to Andrea Arden in desperation and had a consultation with one of the trainers, Katrina. Immediately I knew the puppies wld be in great hands. She recommended we start them separately and then gave really helpful feedback every step. The first puppy to go was perhaps easier than she tht, so she said she could handle the other, and she was very very honest that she felt the minimum time of 5 days for the first puppy was enough. He came back a different dog. He was basically housebroken, barking about 75 percent less but he also responded to the tactics she’s given us to stop barking. He sits and lays on command and is a joy. Our second dog was more difficult. She is terrified of nyc and wld not go to the bathroom outside. When Katrina took her- she also got sick, took her to the vet not once but twice, and filled me in on progress honestly every day. She never made me feel pressured to keep her there but eventually with persistence- she got her pottying outside, walking on a leash and generally a puppy that can now come out of her crate and run around the apt without an accident. She also sits, lays, responds to other commands. I can’t thank Katrina enough. We were at our wits end and really trying- but the intensive training did the trick. I wld recommend this service and particularly Katrina. She really figured it out for us and loved both the dogs.

This review is for the puppy group training and the overall feeling from the trainer. Honestly everything is rushed, rushed, and did I day rushed. Trying to interact with her is like jumping on a bullet train running backwards, and once you get to a section of the class where you are trying to implement what she just explained you will get 1-2 minutes at best. The bad thing is she cannot possibly observe every dog in that brief period. During the end of the class you figure shed interact with the clients, nope she runs everyone out for the next class and has the fastest dismissal ever. There are a few good points if you can listen that fast and remember after being verbally pelted.

I am currently attending the Puppy Class (P1) at Andrea Arden and love it! The instructors are very knowledgable. In just a couple of weeks my puppy is starting to understand visual commands all because of their help with teaching me how to train properly. I have also attended the puppy play groups which is a great way to socialize my puppy with other's. The groups are controlled by an instructor who offers guidance throughout the play time in different behaviors the puppy might display around others. I would definitely recommend this for others who have a puppy and wish I had started right when I got mine!
