American K-9 Training/Cathy Johnston

Cathy has trained 2 of my dogs throughout the years and she's fantastic! She is currently working with my 2 year old golden retriever who previously had some bad habits and aggression issues that needed immediate attention. Her board and train session was outstanding and she broke every bad habit of my dog and my dog no longer has aggression issues! My dog continues to see Cathy once a week for daycare/training and I also send him there while on vacation knowing that he's in great hands!

Kathy is an amazing woman and dog trainer . My puppy “karma” (8 months) has been crate trained and obedience trained by her and takes her anytime i need to board her! She always is lovely to work with! I trust her fully with my puppy and not only have gained a trainer and helper with my dog but a lifetime friend! 10/10 recommend her . I had never raised a dog from a puppy since “Karma” and kathy has been so helpful in building the confidence i needed. No one tells you how hard it is to raise a puppy especially a small breed firecracker (she is a chihauha french bulldog mix) like mine and i could not be doing this without her!!!

Cathy misrepresented her experience with Akitas. She told us she would have him in her home for 2 weeks and train him. Within the first day she was already calling saying that she should not do the job. We told her to let us come pick him up and she insisted that she could work with him. We trusted her and we shouldn't. He said for another three days where she traumized him, kept him in a cage all day while taking other dogs out. She even admitted to allowing him to just go to the bathroom in the grate because she did not want to deal with him. We insisted on coming to get him. When went to pick him up he was skin and bones and terrifies of everything. He become extremely anxious and even afraid of us. We are having to pay a new trainer and behavioral vet to help with the trauma he went through with this fraud. She apologized and said she would fully refund us for what she charged. She ended up not following through with the refund. Please if you love your pet's do kot give this trainer.

Cathy basically saved my bloodhound from being given up/ put down for aggression! Without her intense and thorough training, we would not be able to enjoy his company now. He’s s till a work in progress but the skills, I use are all taught by her! She also gifted me a foster dog that became my baby in just about 24 hours of having him. I use her for vacation boarding for both my boys knowing they’ll also get their appropriate “boot camp” on vacation too;) highly recommend! 10/10!
