All-Star Dog Training

The Sit Means Sit Apex team would receive 10 stars if allowed! I can’t say enough about the welcoming and supportive atmosphere that is displayed by everyone the minute you enter the building. The manager Meghan was beyond accommodating with a schedule change and I can’t thank Taylor and Courtney enough for the exceptional training they provided my puppy. The majority of the training falls on educating the owner and the support provided in this area exceeded my expectations. I was initially overwhelmed with training, but thanks to the kindness and professionalism of the team I feel confident that I will be able to give Penny a wonderful life.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Sit Means Sit The team, the training classes, and the ongoing support have all been incredible. Our dachshund, Maya, is known for her stubborn streak, which made training a challenge—but with their help, we not only solved the key issues we were facing but also saw unexpected improvements in her overall behavior. The results have truly exceeded our expectations, and we’re so grateful for their expertise and dedication. Highly recommend!

Mike and his team are absolutely wonderful. They took such excellent care of our six-month old Labrador puppy. We never, ever questioned the team's genuine interest in and care for our dog. They always treated him as one of their own. Special thanks to Courtney, Nicole, and Rebekah for their ongoing patience and support. Training a Lab puppy is not for the faint of heart, but thanks to the SMS team our Lab is now well on his way to being a wonderful member of our family!

Incredibly arrogant business owner. Called simply to understand pricing plan(s) and schedule consultation and was basically scolded for answers I provided to their questions. Owner has no ability to communicate with prospective customers. From what I have learned this is a franchise so my review is only for the Apex location. 1/30/25 Update after response from owner: There are so many mistruths in your reply so I will take the time to clarify. Additionally, by your response I can't tell if you are sincerely apologetic or not after your false statements about me. I never berated anyone, nor raised my voice, and I requested to speak to the owner so he by no means intervened. You are assuming that dog owners are stupid, and don't understand anything about the process or pricing. I have had many dogs over the years and had them trained. I have never experienced anything like what occurred when calling your company. I had already reviewed your website which is how I had background on the company, and it made me interested to call and get a bit more info. I absolutely stated I want to schedule an evaluation, and was just interested in pricing model, not an exact price by any means. Do you charge by lesson, have packages, or other details that could be provided. She proceeded to tell me that my dog could not be fully trained for his issue, told me fixing the issue is not like turning off a light switch (which is condescending to think I thought that), and then asked questions to which she then proceeded to tell me everything in her mind what I am doing wrong with my dog. I told her we are very open to making any needed changes, and which is why we are looking for training. She was convinced that letting my dog on the sofa was a mortal sin and the reason my dog is having an issue. I certainly did not ask for input from someone who is not a dog trainer, and has never even evaluated my dog. I was displeased by conversation, and I asked to speak to the owner (who I have since found out is her brother and explains his defensive nature). Michael may be an amazing dog trainer, but he lacks fundamental management and customer service skills. He did nothing but escalate the situation further. He succeeded in feeding his ego, and what he perceived as defending his sister's honor, but he lost a customer who was very interested in the training approach this company offers. I will add I have since done more research, and found out that this is not an isolated incident at this location. Badgering people and a false apologies especially when you are not providing an accurate representation of what occurred, does not resolve the underlying issue. Your owner and staff at this location need training to properly perform a customer intake, and problem solving. To anyone reading this in the Triangle area, I have heard that Colby at the Raleigh location is amazing to work with and even though it is further from my home, I will likely reach out to his location for help.
