All Purpose Canine

We were first introduced to All Purpose Canine at their free training at Lake Elizabeth, and we're so glad we were! Our 2-year-old rescue boxer, Koko, was a handful, overly excited around other dogs and it was our very first training session with her since adopting her. We knew we needed help, and after meeting Rick and Caitlin, we knew immediately they were the right choice. From the start, they were calm, patient, and made a genuine connection with Koko right away. Their knowledge and approach gave us so much confidence. During that first session, they equipped us with the tools to start working on basic commands like sit, down, and stay, and we actually noticed a shift in Koko after just that first training. She seemed more confident, probably because we were more confident! Training is a process and we've had to put in the work, but the results we've seen so far have been incredible. We now feel like we truly have the tools and foundation to build a more joyful relationship with our girl. We have done 3 out of four lessons with Rick and Caitlin so far and we've seen a lot of progress with our German Shepherd pup! She's a rescue and was abandoned in our neighborhood so that comes with many challenges that we are working to overcome. Her heel has really improved and we have moved on to walking past other dogs without reactivity. It's a process and a journey but one that will be worth taking. Rick has given us many exercises to do on our own at home. His instructions for how to do each thing and WHY we are doing these things is very helpful for us as trainers. After all not only is it about training the dog, but even more so training the humans to be able to train the dog properly. I really appreciate the work Rick and Caitlin have done so far (with me and with the doggy) haha It takes time and patience thats definitely something Rick and Caitlin are willing to put into their clients. Also they put on a free event at Lake Elizabeth which is how i was introduced to them in the first place. It's great for socialization and its FREE! Thank you guys for all the work you do!

We had a great experience with Rick and Caitlyn at All Purpose Canine. From the start, Rick showed genuine care for our high-energy Cattle Dog mix and provided clear, practical training that made a real difference in her obedience, crate training, and confidence. As a shelter dog, she was initially unsure and nervous around new people and places, but she’s grown so much through the training. She’s now noticeably more relaxed and comfortable in new situations. We also really appreciated the ongoing support after training and the weekly group classes, which helped her socialization even more. Rick’s guidance was always thoughtful and easy to follow, and we’re very grateful for the progress she’s made. Highly recommend All Purpose Canine. 🫶

Rick at All Purpose Canine is amazing! I first started training with him when I had a very nervous, reactive dog, and he truly worked wonders with her. Later, he helped me train my puppy, and he's been fantastic at guiding me in turning her into a well-behaved dog who can go everywhere with me. I've used Rick for weekly training, board and train, and boarding, and the results have been incredible. People are always impressed when they see my dog in action! My daughters and several friends have also used Rick for their dogs and have had great experiences. He's extremely knowledgeable about different breeds, training methods, and temperament, and he's incredibly patient. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I'm harder to train than my dog! I highly recommend Rick and All Purpose Canine--simply the best!
