All Ears Training

Working with Laska and James has been fantastic. Laska first started working with my cats, one was severly bullying the other so badly they had to be kept separated at all times. He would go out of his way to seek her out and attack her. With Laska's help, I saw for the first time that coexistence is actually possible for them. She gave me tools to work with to make their lives better. Eventually I chose to work with her and my dog, Dingo. He’s fear-aggressive and had been trained solely with an e-collar, and I really wanted to give us the opportunity to stop using it. Laska had already earned his trust during her visits with the cats. After I took him off the e-collar, his behavior declined fast, and not long after it worsened from the stress of a move to a new home and a back injury. But again, working with Laska helped us bridge the new communication gap. She's calm and knowledgable, and she's helping Dingo learn how to make good choices in tough situations. I'm also happy to say that I'm seeing almost a complete return of Dingo's happy goofy personality.

Laska is amazing. I’ve worked with a bunch of dog trainers, and it’s such a relief to find someone who truly uses positive behavior methods. When I moved to Sarasota, finding a trainer who aligned with my values was really important to me. A lot of people say they use positive reinforcement, but then roll out aversives and focus on control instead of partnership. That’s very much not my dog parenting style, and I wanted someone who truly understood that. Laska does. She’s so great with Ken—he absolutely loves her—and I’ve learned so much from working with her. Ken’s a big boy—85 pounds—and he’s intimidated past trainers. But not Laska. She meets him where he’s at and helps me do the same. People notice the difference in him. I notice the difference in him. Most of all, working with Laska feels like having someone on my team—on Ken’s team. Training a dog with behavioral challenges can be tough emotionally, and having her support makes all the difference. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I feel like things are manageable, like I have the tools I need to keep Ken safe and happy. Ken is my whole world, and I want nothing more than for him to be healthy, happy, and safe. Working with Laska has been such a help. James is also fantastic with scheduling and emergencies, and they’re just wonderful to work with. Positive reinforcement does work, and Laska is proof of that. Highly recommend!
