What a great time! My Aussie is 5 and turns out it wasn’t for him! We brought him in and had a great experience. Unfortunately he didn’t have all the “tells” of being interested in herding but we learned a bunch about herding. Met great people. Our dog was just more interested in playing with other dogs or the people to car about livestock 😂 would definitely recommend taking your herding dog at least once! The trainer was patient and very knowledgeable.

I have a working line GSD I originally wanted to do IGP with but I felt like she had more interested in herding. I was recommended this place by my breeder and I was blown away with how fun the initial experience (instinct test) was. Everyone there is knowledgeable about herding as they've got years of experience. My instructor/coach/mentor is Rich. He's the GSD guy and he's help me improve my relationship with my dog so much. Her obedience is a lot stronger and our relationship has blossomed. They also host trials every quarter and we managed to title this past October. I would say although my experience was really good, not every herding type dog will succeed here. Your dog needs to want to work with the sheep and you, for both of you to thrive in this environment. Do try it out as it has been a wonderful experience and has opened up a whole community of people who want to see their dogs work and have fun too. I'm glad I took the chance to come out here. I come every week for lessons now too.

I went to this facility for the first time in 2019 with my ACD. I didn't know anything about this sport and I believed Terry was a trustful teacher. For a while I even considered her as a mentor. Big mistake. I'm not going to share many more details, they are mostly painful but here's a quick summary: - my ACD quit working as I put too much pressure on her. Be careful on Terry's methods: they work for a very small number of dogs (who don't deserve the treatment anyways). Her solution is always be forceful or "get rid of that dog" - I trusted Terry and bought my first working border collie. Flynn was supposedly "fully trained" and she charged $4000. I was naive, I believed it and trusted my "mentor" HAHA! This dog, who I love so much, might never be a good working dog. The first time I brought him out for a clinic with the top US handler, he told me " don't be mad but I've something to tell you: your dog doesn't know his flanks, he's motivated by fear" he was right and I felt umiliated and betraided - I saw Terry training many dogs and now that I know better I would not recommend ANYONE to work under her or her right hand Lori Southern California is not an easy place to train working dogs, nevertheless there are good trainers out there who really understand dog behaviors and can train and successfully compete at high levels. Don't let yourself be fooled by Action K9 and Terry. Please learn from others'mistakes, I did learn and that's the reason I decided to post this review.

We took our 3 year old Blue Heeler Izzy, for an instinct test last weekend and she had an amazing experience. We are already signed up for future herd training. If you read the bad reviews, they always involve the fact that their dog was mistreated or physically touched. I paid very careful attention to all trainers I could see and the worst thing I saw occurred to my own dog, and all the trainer did was take her guide stick and push her away from the herd (which has a huge orange juice bottle over the end of the stick to blunt the end). She was attempting to bite a lone sheep and the trainer is there to protect them as well as train the dog. Additionally, we were warned ahead of time this would occur if she tried to get to over -zealous. The 2nd time in the pen, my dog tried to grab onto one of the lambs and was pushed back. If you bring your dogs to be trained by titled professionals, please allow them to take your dog through the process and humbly consider that you are not the pro and they may just improve your dog's life immensely. Don't trust the bad reviews!
