My wife and I were not sure how to handle our young Belgian Malinois when she began to act aggressively in certain situations. After going through the normal worrying and fretting we decided to give a call to Absolute K9 Solutions to seek any possible guidance. After having a conversation with Ian we decided to bring our dog in for a consultation and to learn more. Our first day we brought our dog in with a soft muzzle because we were unsure how she would react to a new environment and new person. After completing the three training modules with Ian and our Malinois, she is a completely different dog. She went from growling upon arriving at training to absolutely cherishing her time with “Uncle Ian” and showering him with kisses. She is a smart dog but she needed the proper foundation, guidance and obedience to put those smarts to use. Now we are able to calmly take her to the ocean without worry and recently during a vacation in the woods in Maine we were able to leave her off the leash as she listens to our commands and responds accordingly. Ian taught us how to behave with the dog as well and changed our mannerisms and behaviors that translate directly to the dog’s understanding of situations. Both my wife and I cannot say enough good things about Ian’s training programs and about Ian himself. He is patient, knowledgeable, experienced and is a good person on top of it all. He is flexible to work with and we are now looking forward to continuing the training to keep our pup on her best behavior. I have been going to Ian for 2 years with my dogs and he is fantastic! He took us on when no one else would and has made a huge difference in our lives. Although he is strict and has a solid background in dog training- he is a good person who is not inflexible, is sensitive to the individual needs of each dog/ owner and did well adjusting to a “softy” like me! We are now in group classes that are going very well and he will be starting agility too for those of us that never want to leave!
