A coworker recommend Tyrese to me after I got Ezra from a rescue. Ezra had a pretty hard life and was reactive to new people and dogs. Tyrese and Derek worked wonders with him. Ezra is a big 7/8 year old German Shepherd and was used to using his size to do what he wanted. He is sweet and loving with people he knows, but had attempted to bite people he didn't. It was always stressful to introduce him to people or worrying that someone would stop by unexpected. After the 1st day Ezra was doing better on the leash. He is more aware of his expectations and looks to me for guidance. Tyrese and Derek not only taught Ezra how to interact but taught me how to better engage in the process. Now introducing Ezra to new people is less stressful. He stays on his place bed until he is given his release command. Tyrese and Derek are kind, caring and professional trainers. I wasn't sure how much training would help an older dog, but Ezra responded wonderfully to the training. He is still a work in progress but he is now willing to work. I am so grateful to Tyrese for giving Ezra and I the tools to build a happy and safe life for Ezra. I would recommend Howling Good Time to everyone. It is a great base for building a safe and happy relationship with your furry friends. They truly care about you and your friend. All you need to do is follow their instructions and be consistent. Thank you for all the guidance and support you gave us. You are wonderful people and caring trainers. We are forever grateful.

we sent our 1.5 yr old german shepard/lab to tyrese for 5 weeks for some intensive behavioral training. although he is the sweetest boy he very much so ran our household. hiding under the table and growling when he didn’t want to do something. leash pulling, resource guarding, little to no recall. always barking or biting at us when he wants something. he started to become extremely reactive towards other dogs. wanting to leave our yard and play with everyone who passed by. we had zero control over him and he even started to become aggressive towards us if we tried to reprimand his behaviors. he was becoming a serious liability for us. everything we did was on his terms and we felt like we had completely failed him and ourselves when it came to proper training and being able to enjoy him. fast forward to today and our boy badger is a completely different dog! he’s so much calmer and relaxed and anytime he displays a behavior we don’t want we are easily able to correct it. he stays in our yard. comes when he’s called. walks calmly and is obedient. he knows many commands and will even stay in them until we release him. training at home doesn’t feel like work anymore because we truly enjoy doing it now. we are still working on exercises for resource guarding and muzzle training but we finally have a foundation we can grow on. I also feel like being able to work with him everyday has helped us tremendously on building a bond with him. we tried so many things before and just never knew where to start or what would work for him. we’ve successfully taken him with on many public outings to stores and parks and people rave to us about well trained he is. none of this would’ve been possible without tyrese's help. he gave us so many tools and taught us how to use them to help our dog continue to grow and excel in his training. I cannot thank him and recommend him enough. if you feel like you’ve lost control and confidence with your dog this is the place for you! we will be using a howling good time for all of our future training needs!!

Tyrese does amazing work! Our dog was acting out in the new building we moved to and would growl and bark at other people and dogs in the hallway. It was at the point we needed to have her in a muzzle when leaving the apt. Within 2 training sessions our dog was under control and wasn’t reactive towards other people or dogs. After 4 sessions we are now able to go in the elevator with other people and we are able to walk next to others dogs without her reacting. People have told us our dog is a new dog after the training. Just amazing!!

Edited 8/22/24 — we’ve now had two pups work with Tyrese at A Howling Good Time Dog Training for different behavioral reasons. Our girl, Bobbie, struggles with impulse control and confidence, which has resulted in nipping both my partner and I to the point of bruises/breaking skin. Tyrese personalizes and individualizes each lesson to help meet the pups needs — he focuses on building the pup up and never setting them up for failure. And he emphasizes consistency! Bobbie’s biggest triggers (excitement) are dog parks and tennis balls. After building solid foundational skills around impulse control, Tyrese had us training with/in both triggers by the end of our sessions together. Before training, we’d been avoiding both triggers out of fear and worry. She has come so far!! While we’re so so happy with both our dogs’ progress, arguably the best part about Tyrese’s training is the training he provides the owners. Tyrese has taught us that so much of dog training is really about training the owners to be the best leaders we can be for our pups. Our confidence around our pups’ triggers has grown immensely since working with Tyrese, and it shows in our dogs changed behaviors. We are so grateful for his help!!! * Our pup, Randall, just went through Tyrese’s day-training program for some obedience and resource-guarding (around other dogs) needs. Within 9 classes, our pup is already a much better behaved pup, and we feel much more comfortable having “resources” near him and our other dog because of the commands he learned with Tyrese. We would recommend A Howling Good Time to anyone!
