We also provide private coaching services for people and their pet dogs that want their dog to alert them to sounds in the home they frequently miss. Hearing assistance dogs are trained to alert their owners to a wide variety of sounds, including: door knock/bell, smoke alarm, cell phone ring, fridge warning beep, name call, baby cry, gas stove click and tornado warning siren. Hounds With halos is a program we developed to save shelter dogs and people who need a best friend. We offer Service dog and emotional support dog consulting, training and breeding. We perform Shelter dog evaluations and rehabilitation. We have certified therapy dogs available for facility visits and can help with any training needs.

Our reward-based techniques are based on the science of learning theory and positive reinforcement. Our methods are pet friendly and family friendly and do not involve the use of force or fear. We will assist you in setting up your pet for success and changing your pet's undesirable habits and issues.

We provide highly trained yet affordable service dogs for people with disabilities.

We offer group classes and private training at Playful Paws, in your home, or a remote location. We teach basic, intermediate, and advanced obedience, help with reactive and aggressive dogs, do public access and task training for service dogs, offer therapy dog preparation, CGC preparation and testing, and behavior modification for mild to severe behavioral concerns. We follow the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's (AVSAB) position statement regarding the humane treatment of dogs during training. We do not use punitive training methods and aspire to keep things as least invasive and minimally aversive as possible (LIMA) as supported by the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.
