Primarily I focus on manners because People want a well mannered dog in public. I’m not so much about obedience, I like teaching how to have a relationship with my dog. After all we are already in charge of when they get to eat, when they get to potty, when they get to go outside, I figured the least I can do is teach people how they learn how they learn so We can communicate better to them what we want from them in our world of rules. Being a certified professional dog trainer, means that I have to have a certain amount of educational units every year in order to keep up my certification, so I’m up-to-date on the most recent scientific advancements and studies in dog training.

The SCKC is a member club of the American Kennel Club, and is dedicated to the appreciation of purebred dogs and to the education of the public in ALL dog-related activities. Obedience and handling classes have always been an important part of the kennel club. We also offer classes in Rally, Scentwork, Agility, Tricks, and Therapy Dog. Classes are held year round at the SCKC Training Center at 715 North Grand in Pueblo.

Utilizing science-based positive reinforcement techniques and methodologies, our Training and Behavior Center provides behavioral support to animals at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley (HSBV), helping ensure their success in their future homes. HSBV’s Training and Behavior Center also operates a public training center with group classes, expert presenters and professional seminars, private consultations, and access to certified trainers.

Colorado Earthdogs Inc. was founded in May of 2023. We are a club that is dedicated to protecting and preserving the unique characteristics and working heritage of terriers and other dog breeds traditionally used to hunt vermin. Although our events are designed for terrier breeds, we encourage all dog owners to join us to have fun and discover what their canine friends can do.

Nose Work/Scent Work trainer. Teaching classes at EVERYTHING DOG, Loveland, CO. This dog sport is modeled on the work professional sniffer dogs perform, locating and communicating the location of a target odor. In the sport we substitute harmless (and LEGAL!) essential oil scents for bombs and drugs. This sport emphasizes partnership and mutual respect in dog-handler relationships and is appropriate for almost all dogs, including mobility limited dogs, blind dogs, deaf dogs, and dogs with big feelings about the world. I’ve loved this sport since 2011 and am currently a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) with National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) and an American Kennel Club (AKC) Scent Work Judge. This sport is all about JOY.
