Zoom Room Dog Training

We are getting close to our 1 year anniversary of attending classes at Zoom Room so I wanted to leave a review on our experiences here. We are a multi-dog family with 4 very different dogs and all have had such positive experiences with Zoom Room. We started Zoom Room with our 2nd oldest dog, Clover who needed a confidence boost. She is a such a sweet and sensitive dog, but has a tendency to be unsure of herself so we started her in agility. The staff were so patient with her as she continued to learn the equipment and we have seen a ton of improvement in her behavior and confidence. She also takes other enrichment classes and look forward to continuing Tracking with her next spring. Shortly after starting Clover at Zoom Room, we saw some fearful behaviors continue to grow with our 7 month old puppy (he is about a year and a half now). Due to the timing of when the rescue took him in as well as when we adopted him, Barley missed a lot of socialization during the critical period (him and his siblings struggled with fear/anxiety). Note, we had previously taken him to both puppy socialization classes with the rescue and 6 week beginner training at the pet store and he did well with both, but he was always nervous. While talking to Sam at one of Clover's agility classes about him, she told me about Shy Dog class. Shortly after we signed him up. It has honestly been the most helpful class and experience I could have asked for. We learned so much about helping him work through things, how to better advocate for him, and how to help him gain confidence and comfort with people. He has made so much progress and we know there is a long road ahead to continue to help him experience his life to the fullest. When we first started, he froze from fear on walks and would bark or growl at almost everybody we saw. He doesn't do that all the time anymore! He is learning to create distance if he is scared and we are more aware of his body language which helps us to help him before he crosses his threshold. Sometimes on walks he is so happy that he wants to frolic through the neighborhood and of course we let him! He is now all the way in Advanced Obedience and earned a Tricks title - we are so incredibly proud of how far he has come. We love Zoom Room so much we had a birthday party there for Clover and we quickly learned that our Senior dog loves agility! We decided to also take our old girl, Clementine, to classes and she has so much fun. She is also a rescue who has struggled with anxiety, but when you see her out on the course, you would never know. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks! She loves going there and wiggles around on her back with pure joy, it's the sweetest thing. I encourage anyone with a senior dog to give them an opportunity for this type of enrichment. We adopted another puppy over the summer and knew that we would bring Taziki to training at Zoom Room from day one. She is a very well-socialized rescue who we adopted when she was not quite 3 months old. She loves the trainers at Zoom Room and is doing great with puppy agility. The way that the puppy training classes also incorporate socialization is so key and we feel like she is getting a truly great start. We're very grateful for the trainers at Zoom Room and all the knowledge they have shared. We put what we learn to work every day and it has helped us be better guardians for our dogs. Our dogs are all so different and thriving in their own ways!

Our dog has been attending classes at the zoom room for a month and I have already started noticing positive behavioral changes. Trainers have been wonderful. The guidance provided to us has been structured and effective. There is still more for her to learn and we look forward to the progress. Started her in basic obedience classes but she is eager to learn so, I believe a variety of classes will challenge her and give her the mental stimulation she needs.
