Zoom Room Dog Training

DON'T PURCHASE A PACKAGE! As a business owner myself, I understand exactly how refunds work and how easy they are to give. I purchased a training package, my schedule changed so I am unable to use the this and before I used a single session, and I asked for a refund. Zoom Room refused, citing a 'no refund' policy that appears nowhere on their website, nowhere on my receipt, and nowhere in any agreement I signed. When a business chooses to hold onto money for services never rendered rather than just... refunding it, that's not policy. That's a choice. Disappointing way to treat customers, and it says a lot about how they operate.

UPDATE 5/17/2026: Okay, our first trainer was Sam. She was amazing! One month into training Scout can remain calm amongst other dogs, sit and stay, lie down and stay (mostly), and mostly ignore other dogs in the room. We are still working on obedience but Scout is a much calmer and happier dog all the way around. He still has his off days but what turned the biggest corner for him was spending more time working at home (go figure). Definitely recommend Zoom Room. ORIGINAL POST: We took Scout to the Zoom Room a couple weeks ago for an orientation. We were impressed with the initial visit and purchased a 6-visit pass for classes. We have been through three or four dog trainers in the past couple years. Truth be told - I was expecting a cattle-call type of experience and the "bums rush" to sign up for yet more mediocre classes in a congested strip mall. I was wrong. Scout responded the best he has thus far with their training. Our obedience class was with six other dogs. Three were very unruly (which is why they were there) and three were just very distracted by the other dogs (Scout included). The instructor (forgive me I forgot her name) was a former marine (Semper Fi) and absolutely handled the class beyond expectations. Scout was a newcomer to the obedience class. She took the time to get us up to speed, make Scout feel comfortable and lay down the ground rules in plain English which was easy to follow. The trainer was able to deal with disorderly dogs, agitated dogs and shy dogs all at the same time and was able to give every dog and owner the personal one-on-one attention that we paid for. How she managed two dogs (jumping, pulling, barking), one going to the bathroom, and the rest engaged and learning is beyond me. Well done Zoom Room. Suffice to say, I was wrong in my initial assessment of Zoom Room. Scout responded better to todays 50 minutes than he has to a dozen previous dog trainer lessons. Most of those were one-on-one. Being in a class of six dogs - it felt like one-on-one. We will definitely be back. I know this review is going "on and on" but we were VERY impressed. To management of Hillsboro Zoom Room - keep this girl on staff and treat her well. She is the James Bond/Superfly/Kung Fu of dog trainers all wrapped up in one precise package!
