Zoom Room Dog Training

Let me preface this by saying that if your dog is very push-button, easy going and are looking for simple training, then sure, this is a good class for you. My dog did well in the puppy classes, and I made it known in the beginning that I had plans for him to be a service dog if it was possible. They said that they had many contacts that could help with that, but to get through the puppy classes first and that we could go on from there. Later, I brought it up again to which the reply was, "Oh, that is something that should have been started a long time ago." 🤬 My dog trained great by himself but the whole reason why I wanted group classes was to help him train through distractions. Early on I had mentioned to them after class that he was great with other dogs, but for some odd reason he liked to heckle and irritate my mother's dog and was in need of some advice with it. Their reply was simply "if we don't see the behavior in class, we can't help you with it." One day in the class, he began with that behavior a bit with another dog "walk him in a circle and make him sit". He was very riled up and that was it; that was all the advice. At that point I was already frustrated. Every time I came to ask them for help after class they rarely had an answer or always felt like a burden. "We have another class coming in, I can't help you." Another class my dog was acting up, I was very frustrated; frustrated with him and their lack of helping me. I had voiced that I was ready to just leave the class because my dog was being defiant and a distraction for the others. They gave me no suggestion to stay and that they would help, the answer was just "Okay", like go ahead and leave. At that point, I stopped going. I was frustrated and constantly feeling like a bother. I had paid for a lot of classes and still had many I had paid for available to go to, but what was the point? I just hope that with that money they learn to offer more time for people and other methods for these kinds of situations.

Unfortunately, the current Zoom Room ownership is atrocious and I would strongly suggest finding another place to train your dog. I had been going to Zoom Room for 2 years and had experienced some different trainers, some of whom were good, some bad. Over the past year I had worked with Cari, who was fantastic and clearly had shielded us from experiencing the true ownership of this franchise. Unfortunately, Cari has left, and the current trainers might be fine for some people, but I was not impressed and did not feel like I would be making progress with my dog any more at this location. I contacted the owner Diego asking for a partial refund as this was a significant disruption, and he began berating me about "what if you signed up for a membership at a yoga studio and your favorite instructor left" ...among other things. I have NEVER been spoken to in such a disrespectful, aggressive way as a customer. This franchise is clearly not well run. While they might find gems of trainers like Cari from time to time, you might also get stuck with untrained people.. or possibly even NO instructors! Yep, there was a time period when ALL instructors and employees had left (and we weren't informed, just no classes were available). I truly did love my experience with Zoom Room while Cari was there but now I definitely recommend you save your money. It's not worth spending that much money to potentially have to keep working with different, random, possibly untrained employees AND be talked down to.
