We adopted our dog Icey, a stubborn little Mini Bull Terrier, from the shelter when she was about 1.5 years old. I did my best with training over the first year, and while we made progress, there were a few behaviors I just couldn’t break on my own. That’s when we found Nicki at Zen Paw Farms — and I can honestly say it was a game-changer. From the very first session, Nicki showed a deep understanding of dog behavior and met Icey exactly where she was. She was patient, clear, and incredibly intuitive with both Icey and with me. Nicki didn’t just train my dog — she coached me in how to better communicate and lead Icey in a way that worked for both of us. Icey responded so well to Nicki’s calm, confident energy and her structured, positive approach. Even some of the more stubborn behaviors that I thought were just “part of who Icey is” started to improve with consistency and the right guidance. I also really appreciated how Zen Paw Farms creates a peaceful, supportive environment — it’s not just about obedience, it’s about building trust and a better relationship with your dog. Nicki is the best paws down. I am amazed at how well my dog Waylen has done and how much training he has learned from her. I rescued Waylen from the shelter at 5 mos old I was nervous he would not acclimate as easy to learning commands and how to be a polite dog out around other people. I was amazed at how well he has done! This dog is also more confident and not as scared as before. Nicki loves what she does and it shows through each and every dog. From the meet and greet you feel like you are already apart of the Zen Paw Farm's family. I am so glad my family and friends recommend her and I will also recommend her to people. Excellent Experience with Nicki – Highly Recommend! I cannot recommend Nicki enough as a dog trainer! She has been absolutely amazing with my dog, Jett. From the moment we started working with Nicki, her calm and professional approach immediately put both Jett and me at ease. She has a fantastic ability to communicate with dogs, and it's clear that she truly loves what she does.
