FirstBarkStephanie is the best: she knows both extensive techniques and idiosyncratic elements specific to each dog and parent. Kimono, and his family (Jesse and Karolina), are always better for the training sessions.

Yuruani Olguin is the founder of Yuruani Olguin Dog Training, Inc. She has worked extensively with clients throughout New York City, helping build relationships based on mutual respect and understanding. Yuruani is CPDT-KA certified and her training is based on force-free techniques, taking into account all aspects of each individual dog’s situation, including breed, background, temperament and, very importantly, household environment. Yuruani is also a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT). She specializes in working with clients whose dogs suffer from separation anxiety through a humane systematic desensitization protocol. Her goal is to help dogs and their humans live a happy and healthy life together.

Yuri is a phenomenal dog trainer! I got a Shiba as a first time dog owner and wouldn’t have been able to do it without Yuri. I hired her from day one and my Shiba still consistently gets compliments from random strangers on being well behaved. Shibas are notorious for not having recall, but Yuri helped establish a solid one early on. I can now let my dog off-leash at the beach or during hikes and can totally trust his recall. She’s extremely patient and we learned a lot about communication and bonding with our dogs. I always recommend her to friends who just got their dogs or people who are struggling with training. She only uses positive reinforcement, and although it may take longer than adverse training methods to see results, you will realize that the results last much longer and you won’t ruin the trust between you and your dog.

There is no one like Yuri (and Stephanie too) to help you train your dog. She is the most understanding, patient, responsive and kind trainer I have ever worked with. She taught my pup Teddy all the basics and then some. She truly takes the time to get to know you and your dog and I couldn’t recommend her more!
