I saw your reviews in the Wash. Consumer Checkbook and wondered if you only serve Md. residents. I live in Va. and adopted a 3 yr. husky 4 days ago and she bit me when I tried to correct her. Do you work with dogs like this?

I’ve had excellent experiences with other instructors at Your Dog’s Friend, but my experience with Jackie Moyano has been extremely disappointing. In my opinion, she comes across as unnecessarily rude and condescending, and seems to take pride in that behavior rather than fostering a respectful learning environment. She shows little warmth toward the dogs she teaches — at least not mine — and her attitude makes what should be an encouraging experience uncomfortable and discouraging.
Your Dog’s Friend as an organization is wonderful, but I would strongly recommend avoiding classes taught by Jackie Moyano. Her conduct, in my personal experience, has been unprofessional and disheartening.

All of my dogs as puppies, starting back in 2012, have attended Your Dog’s Friend’s Puppy Kindergarten, Puppy 1st Grade and Puppy Party. Now they all work with me with my therapy clients and live as part of the family. I can’t imagine them not having that training and it was such a great experience for them and me. Also, the trainers have their own businesses, so Sara Stoycos long ago came to work with one of our dogs that had severe anxiety, especially on walks. It was also so helpful and a great experience. One of my dogs even took a scent course at Your Dogs Friend, and being an American Foxhound, he truly loved being able to hunt out the smells. I wish that Your Dogs Friend could be replicated and exist in every community for the face to face courses. I highly recommend the training courses.

I have done over 5 classes here for fun, training and learning with my dog. The trainers are so kind and knowledgeable! The prices are excellent too. Love this place!!!

We have been attending this place for a short puppy training. The puppy loved it a d was happy to meet new friend. I found the training very practical and helpful. The people who run the place know what they are doing.
