Your Dog's Best Friend

I would not recommend this program. I wanted puppy board and train for our new puppy because I do not have the time and patience for training. I spoke to Melissa Ladaire and she convinced me that the boarding program was not suitable for us.she wanted to teach me how to manage our puppy. So I relented. We had two in-home dog training sessions where she came to our home and made suggestions as so what we should and should not do. We went to two dog training sessions with other dogs and their owners. Now I’m a $1000 less and my puppy is still not trained and still pees in the house. I would not recommend this training program at all. I feel very cheated. I was talked out of what I wanted and now I am in a worse place.

I had a great experience working with Freddie on my adult rescue dog's reactivity. He was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to model techniques before having me practice them myself. I also really appreciated that he was willing to adjust his approach based on what worked best for both me and my dog. After our sessions, I feel much more confident working with my dog and continuing to practice what he taught me. I know it will take continued practice, but I feel like I have a much better understanding of how to help her manage her reactivity moving forward. Freddie was supportive throughout the process and made it clear that I could always reach back out if I need more help. I would definitely recommend him!

If you want force training and have fearful nervous dog this place if for you. Worked with Dustin for a few sessions. My dog is very sweet and non aggressive he’s just nervous which Dustin admitted but all the techniques were dominating a dog and using things like nudging on a collar and not using a harness . Anybody with a small breed knows you don’t do that due to small dog being prone to collapsed tracheas. The concept was to not acknowledge when my dog was reacting positively but focusing on the negatives. My last conversation with Dustin was me telling him I put my dog on a low dose of Prozac and never heard back from him. I consulted my vet and she said this type of training it not what is recommended and a low dose of Prozac for a nervous/anxious dog is 100% okay and to only use force free training which this “training facility” does not use. I don’t even care about the money I wasted it’s the mental state my dog went through. At one point Dustin was confident enough to say maybe I’ll bring my dog next time and said it was hard to not give Marty a treat (he only takes then inside he doesn’t care for food outside). Because he knew Marty wasn’t a danger or aggressive. Yes is my dog fearful but creating fear doesn’t treat fear.

We sought training to help our dog, Oscar, with his fearful reactivity. Freddie was amazing and immediately recognized that Oscar had taken on a role in our “pack” that did not fit his personality and it was causing him stress. Freddie taught us how to redirect Oscar’s nervous energy and communicate with him in a way he understands, and how to interpret what Oscar was trying to communicate to us. All of this has allowed him to take on a more appropriate pack role and be more comfortable. Applying what Freddie taught us, we could see that Oscar was more relaxed after the first session and after a few sessions it was like we had a whole new unspoken language to use with him. Oscar's sweet nature continues to emerge as we continue to apply what we learned.
