FirstBarkSteven is an amazing trainer and his staff are just as skilled. My pup and I are halfway through the 7-week course. Steven has been available for questions and help before and after class and has been at the store every time I've been by to buy treats. He always remembers my pup's name and asks how we're doing. Love this place!

Training by appointment. Retail sales by appointment or through special orders. Training clients are welcome to shop at their appointments or classes. Woof in the Woods' goal is to teach dogs, coach owners and achieve goals by providing high quality reward-based training programs to clients in the Western North Carolina. We promote products and services we utilize with our own personal dogs and recommend for clients. We love to see owners have trust in their dog to take them on hikes, to local breweries and restaurants, travel with them and build a respectful relationship with their dog. This happens with basic foundational obedience skills and lots of practice and consistency.

Had a great session with Steve and my dog today. I was skeptical that I could get my dog to give up his squeaky toy, but he does now. In one session he has learned how to walk without pulling as much(we still have more practicing to do), will walk past larger dogs without acting aggressively, has learned the sit command, and will give up his squeaky toy. Well worth the time. I'm so pleased that I know how to better help my dog. Thank you Steve!

I took my Aussie to see Steve after we went through obedience class with another Asheville area trainer that failed. His techniques really do work and you will be surprised how simple it is. He truly understands the dogs thinking process it seems! My Aussie was very aggressive and it only took 1 time of her trying to nip him to become best friends with him. She has now finished basic and intermediate obedience. We loved it so much that I worked with Steve to become certified to teach basic training for him. Now my Aussie and I teach basic class for Steve, although Abbey (my Aussie) is not exactly perfect with strangers or strange dogs, she is miles ahead of where she used to be. She absolutely loves to go show off in class. I highly recommend, and totally believe this saved my dog, this is the reasons I wanted to work with him!
