About Woof in the Woods
Training by appointment. Retail sales by appointment or through special orders. Training clients are welcome to shop at their appointments or classes. Woof in the Woods' goal is to teach dogs, coach owners and achieve goals by providing high quality reward-based training programs to clients in the Western North Carolina. We promote products and services we utilize with our own personal dogs and recommend for clients. We love to see owners have trust in their dog to take them on hikes, to local breweries and restaurants, travel with them and build a respectful relationship with their dog. This happens with basic foundational obedience skills and lots of practice and consistency.

I need to get a service dog certified. What do I need to do?
There is no official certification for a service dog. A service dog can be self trained or trained with the help of a professional dog trainer. Feel free to call us to discuss your training needs further and any questions about a "required" certification.

We are into our 2nd level of training, and the staff and instructors really know their stuff! They give great individual attention too. They have helped my timid rescue pup grow more confident. I recommend them to everyone, no matter how far in training they want to take their dog. We are so lucky!!

I adopted a terrier and quickly realized I had no idea how to handle her behaviors and correct her. I took 1 private from Tracy and was hooked! We just finished the basic obedience class with Chris and I couldn’t have asked for better results. Over the 7 week course we learned all the basic commands necessary for a well behaved dog but most importantly I gained the tools to correct, praise and train my dog (Ginger). I developed a stronger bond with Ginger during the class since she now understood her role in our household. The group trainer, Chris, was direct, efficient and extremely competent. It was worth every penny!!! Do not go anywhere else for any kind of dog training!

We had our first session with Steve last night and I must say it was the best dog training we have ever experienced with 15+ dogs under our belt. We have already recommended them to two of our friends who have both puppies and older dogs. In fact we are going to expose our 5 year old Labrador to Steve to work with. She is an awesome dog but needs some serious fine tuning. She just loves everyone tooooooo much! we want to be able to take her downtown Asheville which is an uber dog friendly town to enjoy the ambience without being a burden. They also have a great supplies of treats and collars.
