Wonder Puppy

Wonder Puppy is Wonderful! We had a fantastic experience during Terri's classes. She was knowledgeable, helpful but also very dedicated to all students and their families. The method they teach works really well, and we all (2 humans and 1 beagle) learned a lot from it. Also, everyone wonder puppy employee we came across was so helpful and kind! We are very grateful for the friend who suggested Wonder Puppy to our family, and we strongly recommend it to anyone looking for dog training services.

We signed up for the same Good Puppy class twice, so 4 members of the family could all do the training with our young puppy Chester (he was about 20 weeks old at that time). We – as first-time dog owners – learned so much about training, how dogs think, and why they do what they do. Terri, ‘our’ trainer (since Chester was definitely not the only one learning new skills!) was experienced, calm, and the dogs loved her. Yet about the first sessions we found ourselves overwhelmed. Chester was always so outgoing, vocal, so lively and frantic. He was overwhelmed too. This led to him and us becoming frustrated when he wouldn’t focus enough to train. Terri noticed this and went above and beyond to help us. She even sent us self-made videos demonstrating techniques that we could try to get Chester’s attention and build a ‘connection’. They WORKED! Did this mean splitting attention constantly and actively between Chester and learning ourselves how to train, what to do next and always acting/reacting to Chester in brain-noodling ways? Yes. But it also meant we could keep up in class, Chester was quieter, 100% more attentive to us, and it was altogether a much more heartening experience for everyone involved. Chester is now a 2-times ‘certified’ ‘Good Puppy Graduate’, which we credit to Terri’s kindness and caring. We continue to train Chester months after graduating the Good Puppy Classes, we continue to use the focus techniques Terri taught us. Thank you, Terri!
