We have reviewed your google review about your experience at our club and have a different interpretation of the events. Upon entering our building to a beginner training class, your one-year-old, one-hundred-pound dog was out of control - lunging at the other dogs waiting in our lobby for the previous class to finish. We suggested you go into our office to make it easier for you to wait. We routinely use the office as the overflow from the lobby. <br> <br>Your dog continued to lunge at the other dogs in the class and our multiple instructors individually, at different times, suggested to you how to handle your dog to diffuse the situation. You were not following their suggestions, and your dog was a detriment to the class. We had to ask that you move to the side area outside the training arena to diffuse the situation your dog had with the other dogs/people in the class. Several instructors did spend a lot of time with you individually, to help you control your dog. The first week you brought regular kibble to use as treats for your dog which they were not interested in. It was recommended to you that you needed a higher value treat for your dog to respond. You did bring higher value treats the next week, but they were very greasy and crumbly. The instructors had to clean up the floor after the class, so that people would not slip. Furthermore, one instructor actually was with you for 75 per cent of the class and talked to you about how to address your dog’s lunging. There was a misunderstanding about using a halti. We do not use them in our training classes as a halti is a coping mechanism and is not a training aid. Using a halti in class actually inhibits the team from learning and growing. A prong collar was suggested, because when used properly, can help with some of the difficult training cases and there was a discussion with you about it. You told the instructor that you had one at home and would bring it next week.<br> <br>Additionally, we had to take your dog the first night of class, out of the arena as one of the instructors noticed that your dog’s paw was bleeding. Two of our instructors had to take you to a separate room to address the health issue and administer first aid. It turned out that you were aware of the wound on your dog’s paw and thought it was healed, yet it wasn’t. They spent about fifteen minutes with you providing first aid on your dog.<br> <br>If you were not satisfied with the class, it would have been beneficial for all parties if you brought it up to the club directly and request a refund allowing us to address the matter further with a good resolution for all parties instead of the posting a review like you did.
