As a trainer you can't do much better. In that regard I have to give him high marks. He knows not only border collies, but most other breads of working dogs as well. The only shortcoming I've seen him.demonstrate as a trainer of handlers (make no mistake, he is training you more than your dog) is he had a need to be all knowing, meaning he might give an answer he's not sure us 100% correct to a question he is not familiar with. But even in this cases I'd give him a 80% chance of being right. As a human being I have to give him an F-. For 6 years I called him.my best friend and he did the same with me. I farm sat for him, fixed his fences, and hung out with him. Comforted him when his dog had to be out down. I was there for him. Always figured he be there for me to. That is until my wife died. We knew she was terminal for a while and I had counted on his support when she passed. When she did after 27 years of life together I was completely distroyed and became suicidal, not consciously, but I was none the less. 16 days after she died I tried to get fine to his place, just a few days before Christmas. Got drunk on the way and wrecked my truck with me and my dogs in it. To this day I cant call my actions anything other that attempted suicide. That was o years ago this past December. He bailed on.me that day as a friend, cut ties so he didn't have to deal with me or my grief. Left me on my own and greaving not only her death, but the loss of my best friend as well. He took a difficult situation he didn't want to face and probably doubled the grieving time it has taken me to recover for the double whammy I received by his inability to help a friend in need. While I've healed from the loss of my wife, I still have not got over what he did to me when he turned his back. Go get your dogs and yourself trained by him, you can't do much better than him if at all. Just don't trust him as a Human being.
