We were extremely disappointed with our experience and do not feel that the training program provided value for the cost. After a two-week stay and a bill of $2,500, our dog returned without reliably demonstrating many of the basic behaviors we expected to see reinforced or improved, including sit, stay, wait, heel, and recall. While no training program can guarantee perfection, we expected significantly more progress given the time and investment involved. We were also concerned by some aspects of the facility and training environment. The facility presented to us did not meet our expectations based on how it had been described, and we observed conditions and equipment that raised questions about safety and professionalism. The only one-on-one session we received was not clearly identified as such beforehand. During that session, we were given very little guidance on how to continue and reinforce the training at home. Aside from being told to "use Dunbar," we left without the detailed instruction, coaching, or training plan we expected. Overall, we left feeling frustrated and disappointed with both the results and the level of communication. We also purchased the program with the understanding that it included lifetime support and follow-up assistance. However, we later learned that the trainer was relocating out of state, which leaves us uncertain about how that support will be provided going forward. Based on our experience, we would not use this service again and cannot recommend it to others.

Walter completely transformed my 4-year-old English Bulldog, Gilly. When Gilly entered the board-and-train program, he had a history of people aggression, including lunging and growling toward both me and others, as well as a bite history. Walt is an incredible dog trainer. He is so patient and kind with our 2-year-old Blue Heeler, Cinch, who had issues with resource guarding/attacking our older dog and struggles with being triggered by the hustle and bustle of our large, busy equine facility. As a natural-based horse trainer myself, I truly appreciate Walt’s force-free approach to dog training. Our training philosophies are very similar, but Walt helped me bridge the gap by explaining the key behavioral differences between horses and dogs. He has also been fantastic with my husband, helping him understand Cinch’s natural instincts and how to best support him. Cinch has come such a long way in a short period of time. While doing our 'homework' was essential, having such an incredible trainer who cares about his job—and our dog—as much as we do has made all the difference. Highly recommend!
