Wing & Shot LLC

I can't say enough great things about Fred and his crew. We have a 10 month old, 80 pound German Shepherd who is very strong and likes to chase squirrels. It had gotten to the point where I could no longer safely walk him because he would try to take off to chase squirrels and I was afraid of being pulled to the ground. Wing and Shot did intensive training with him and I can now easily walk him. He does great with recall and other commands as well. I highly recommend Wing & Shot.

I would steer clear of Wing and Shot (WS) and Maple Lawn Kennels if you care about your pets health and value communication while they are staying away from home for training. I dropped my dog off for the one month phase 1 gun dog training. After that I was never once contacted by anyone from WS unless I initiated contact. I called once a week and left a message inquiring about my dog to ask how she was doing. When they called me back I asked how she was doing and the usual response was “I hear she’s doing good.” I really expected more than that. Fast forward one month later when I’m excited to finally pick her up. I had a long weekend planned at our cabin to take her out hunting and try out her new skills. At first glance she appeared to be fine, but she wasn’t. While making the 2.5 hour trip up north I listened to her cough, hack and sneeze the entire time. She was having trouble breathing due to the mucus buildup in her nose and lungs. Her chest would gurgle when she breathed. Needless to say she was too sick to even try and take her hunting. So we returned home. After taking her to the vet and getting her treated for severe kennel cough she’s finally getting back to normal. It’s only taken just a little over 3 weeks and round of antibiotics. She was severely underweight when I got her home. They may be a reputable trainer but they certainly aren’t looking out for your dogs health.
