I highly recommend Wilde Acres to anyone looking to build a stronger, more confident, and better-behaved relationship with their dog. Carter and his trainers are exceptionally knowledgeable and patient with Nicky, our three year old American Pit-bull Terrier, taking the time to understand her personality, strengths, and challenges. Their positive-reinforcement approach creates a fun, encouraging environment where Nick truly thrives. The classes are relaxed, engaging, and thoughtfully designed for all skill levels. The trainers also provide clear guidance for practice at home, which makes progress fast and consistent. Whether your goal is obedience and/or socialization, Wilde Acres offers professional and effective support. I’ve seen remarkable improvement in Nicky and could not be happier with the results. Carter and the staff at Wilde Acres set the bar HIGH when it comes to dog training. We adopted a rescue dog that had never been socialized, so we desperately need help. We never used a trainer before and didn't know what to expect so we went into it with an open mind. All the trainers are amazing. They are patient and always explain the training process when working with the dogs. They took our rescue through obedience training and into agility training in just a few weeks. If you are looking for training, this is the place!!!

We have taken our pup to Wilde acres for private training and handler classes for the last year +. Carter and his team are great with dogs of all sizes and shapes as well as those dogs’ people. Porter has learned many skills including self control and socialization. We have learned appropriate commands, control and the importance of consistency. Highly recommend Wilde Acres for the genuine care, skilled training and beautiful environment!

If you’d told me that my reactive dog, Bonnie, would be able to walk past another dog without turning into a barking, lunging tornado of chaos, I would’ve laughed (and maybe cried a little). But, here we are. Carter is the real deal. He didn’t just train Bonnie... he trained me. I used to have a “see a dog from 300 yards away and panic” threshold. Now? We can be relatively close to other dogs without a full-blown meltdown. That’s a miracle in my book. Bonnie’s not perfect, and neither am I, but Carter gave us the tools, the confidence, and the pep talks (with a little poking here and there) we needed to keep improving. He’s patient, realistic, and somehow manages to make training feel less like a chore and more like a team sport. If you’ve got a spicy dog and want someone who gets it, call Wilde Acres. We enrolled our dog, Mercy, for the three-week board/train at Wilde Acres after they were recommended to us by friends. Carter, Molly, and the entire team are truly professionals. Mercy is a 4.5 year old Presa Canario/Dutch Shepherd with human and dog distrust/aggression. During her stay at Wilde Acres, not only did she make several new human friends, but she worked on obedience and commands. Even as a “middle-aged” dog, her trainers continuously worked with her and never gave up! She was a much happier and much more obedient dog when we picked her up with many new friends. During her stay, she was routinely featured on their social media and Carter went above and beyond to send us some additional videos of our girl to show progress since my husband and I were out of state the entire time she was boarded. Carter and Molly also trained us as handlers to better communicate with our dog. Prior to the boarding, we did three one-on-one sessions with Carter and at the closing of boarding, we did a session with Molly. I would also like to say that Carter and his team are HONEST. We intended to board our 4 year old American bulldog as well; however, after a few sessions, Carter determined that it would not be the best for him to board due to our dog’s anxiety. A lot of places would board a dog just for the money, but Carter and his team put our dog’s wellbeing above their profit. This solidified that our other dog, Mercy, would be in safe, caring hands while we were gone. Mercy can’t wait to come back in January to see her friends and continue sharpening her skills.
