Wild Heart Dog Training

I recently adopted an adult dog from Mckamey Animal Center who was exhibiting behaviors that I didn't know how to manage. I was nervous that I was out of my league. Ben was able to put my nerves at ease and gave me confidence that everything was going to be okay. He has a lot of experience with shelter dogs and was so knowledgeable. He seemed to know exactly what was going through my dog's mind at all times and was able to pass that knowledge onto me! I am much better at my reading and understanding my dog than was before and I now know what I need to be doing. I am so excited to continue working with Ben and can't recommend him enough!

Ben will meet you and your dog where you're at - both literally and figuratively. On our first visit, Ben came to our house and helped us understand what our newly adopted dog needed to make our home his. More importantly, Ben was able to work with my partner and I and adjust our responses to our new pet, which hadn't been as constructive as we'd previously assumed. Ben's versatility and ability to jump in wherever you and your dog are at helped us learn more about our dog and properly bond with him, and those insights continue to pay dividends. Ben reassured us and took as much time as we needed to listen to us and address our concerns with incredibly thoughtful answers. Reggie was even sad to see Ben leave - we can't wait for our next session with Ben!

The experience that my dog Poppy and I have had working with Ben has not just been helpful, it has been transformational for both of us.  I was looking for a kind of training that went beyond just simply teaching my dog how to sit or to dominate her into desired behaviors, I wanted something that would help her on a much deeper level, something that would help to free her true dog nature and help her to find ways to work through anything that suppressed that.  I knew if I could find that then she would be able to do all the things necessary to thrive in a domesticated environment without having to give up being, well, a dog as nature intended.  This is what I found at Wild Heart Dog Training, working with Ben.  One of the most amazing things is that we've done our training without him ever meeting Poppy in person, solely online and through shared videos of us working through the training.  I find it incredibly remarkable that he's been able to guide me on what to work on next after seeing videos of me working with Poppy on the things he suggested and by noticing Poppy's behavior. Its quite something to look back at the changes that have taken place since we started this work.  We are still in the process of training but Poppy no longer hides and pants with anxiety in the car when I drive, she has become much less aggressive on leash, just generally more open and inquisitive instead of being on defense.  Much more work to come and, no doubt, more positive changes and openness for Poppy and I.   It still blows my mind that this in-depth type of training exists, is possible without being in person, and that a trainer as perceptive, skilled, knowledgeable and caring as Ben exists.
