Wiggle Butt Academy

This is Malcolm the world's cutest dog and also the meanest! He hated everyone except our family so we reached out to Nicole at Wiggle Butt Academy to see if she could help us make Malcolm less stressed and more friendly. Malcolm is 7 and so many people told us it's too late for any changes in his behavior but happily they were wrong. Nicole gave us a very indepth program to help us learn what he was feeling and needing and how to appropriately deal with him. There's no punishment in her training and she works at his speed. The information was so helpful we learned so much. We were having our kitchen remodeled and knew that Malcolm would lose his mind with all the workers coming and going and truthfully someone might have been bitten! So we decided to send Malcolm to their "school" Monday through Friday so he could receive a lot of training, playtime, loving, alone or destress time, and walks. It was very helpful and we were so surprised when Malcolm would actually go to the teachers when they would come to the car to get him each morning . He made friends with Rocky (a dog who lives on-site) which made us happy and made Malcolm's playtime more enjoyable We're not finished with our training but we're happy with the changes in our little terrorist and it's nice to know how to handle him and what causes him to behave in certain ways. Malcolm is a big kisser and we were so happy when Nicole sent us a video of Malcolm not only loving her but kissing her!!! My neighbors have commented on the change which was nice to hear. We can't say enough good things about Nicole and the entire staff, we're so happy to have found them and look forward to a continued journey of growth for both us and Malcolm. I love Wiggle Butt Academy! I found Nicole while researching behavioralists that could help with my dog’s reactivity in the area, and we’ve seen so much improvement in our dog since then. We’ve used WBA for in-home training, which is so helpful to have someone seeing our dog in his natural habitat and explaining his demeanor and behavior. Nicole and Alexis provided a lot of tips and tricks, and they’ve definitely helped my dog with his fear reactivity to strangers entering our house. We’ve also used WBA for day training and boarding at their facility. One thing I love about the facility is how much space the dogs get to run and play. They also have a better staff-dog ratio than most daycare facilities I’ve seen. I like that there’s someone always on site in case of emergencies. Finally, I love the methods and values they hold. I’m a firm believer in positive reinforcement training and non-aversive training and WBA’s training methods align with that. Beyond helping my dogs, WBA has also helped me feel better about having and handling reactive dogs.

Our dog had some unique and interesting challenges when it came to obedience, reactivity and recall. I initially enrolled in the board and train program for my dog, and I can tell his recall and obedience dramatically improved. Nicole also taught us many useful tricks that helps us with management of his reactivity that we are still using today. It’s important to remember that your dog is not a robot. It’s the owner’s job to understand how to manage the problems rather than trying to “fix it” you know? And we learned this from Nicole which was wonderful.
