Whole Dog Institute

I had an excellent experience with Whole Dog Institute with our new 5-month old puppy. We had an in-house 90-minute puppy consultation and training session with the wonderful Irina Evsyukova. With the puppy elsewhere in the house I gave Irena basic background on the puppy, who I got as a rescue just a few days earlier from SNARR in West Chester, NY. We did with the puppy basics in training, such as using treats to help teach sit, come, lie down, stop jumping, etc. But the most valuable thing was learning how to potty train her. (I have had a dog before and of course potty trained and otherwise trained her successfully, but this method would have proved easier.) This method from Irina has worked like a dream over the last 2 weeks. We have the puppy in her crate for about 2 hours at a time and then have her out for 2 or 3, on a leash with us or attached to us, doing fun games with treats, her meals, puzzles, walks, etc. and then back in the crate. We take her out regularly to do her business during this process. During this time she has had only one mistake (and of course the mistake was, no surprise, the fault of her owners). She is doing her business outside consistently and happily. And we continue to put into practice the training and fun activities that Irina shared with us. Later on I plan to sign us up for some of the group puppy training with Whole Dog Institute. Thank you so much.
