Wheatland Dog Center in Derby, KS is a small, specialized dog training and boarding facility on a 20 acre farm that focuses on sending your dog home happier and healthier than when they arrived. The Dream Dog Program is customized for each dog to build a foundation of obedience and address unwanted behaviors. Our Puppy Raising program helps new puppies start on the path to becoming well-behaved, happy dogs, with two or more weeks of being raised and trained in our home. Daily activities and individualized attention from our experienced professional trainer ensures dogs have their emotional and physical needs met with low stress and anxiety levels. Kayla with Wheatland Dog Center has been a fantastic dog breeder and trainer to work with. We got our Australian Shepard in 2018 and cannot imagine a life without her. From the beginning, Kayla made sure we had the best health data and training and in turn a healthy and happy pet. Since getting our pup, we have taken both our husky and our Aussie to WDC whenever we go out of town. They are 10x happier then going to one of the “high-end” dog boarding centers in town. I’d recommend WDC services to anyone!

We boarded our wild, gargantuan Shepard puppy here for a week. I was a little nervous because she is still very much a puppy. They took such good care of her! They handled her with ease and loved her like their own. She came home as a very happy puppy who had the best vacation herself. Will definitely board again! Thank you!

Kayla is one of a kind! We took our very "high maintenance" chocolate lab to Kayla when our dog was 2 years old. She took a dog that was difficult to walk and keep calm and turned her into a dog that is a joy to be around. After 3 years, we still agree it was the best decision we ever made for our dog. Finley gets to go visit Kayla on occasion and is never ready to come home. Kayla truly loves your dog like it was her own and her training methods and techniques are easy to continue at home. There is NO ONE else we would recommend to train your pup! She is the best!
