We rescued our 2-year-old staffy/pit mix, Penny, and while she’s incredibly sweet, she was timid and reactive to other dogs. We signed up for six weeks of private sessions with Dianne, and the difference has been huge. Dianne’s style is firm but compassionate—she gave us the tools to handle Penny with confidence and taught us practical tips for her reactivity. Penny learned her basic obedience commands, gained confidence, and now we can walk past other dogs with little to no issue. It’s not an overnight fix, but with consistent practice, we’ve seen Penny come out of her shell and truly start listening. We feel more connected, and she seems happier knowing how to respond to us. If you’re serious about improving your relationship with your dog, I highly recommend working with Dianne. Her training guidance makes a real difference.

Dianne is knowledgeable and truly passionate about building strong connections between humans and dogs. I am a first time dog owner and was truly lost in how to manage my newly adopted dog, Max. She provided exactly what I needed with a hands-on, patient approach that made the training experience enjoyable and effective. While Max understandably has some remaining areas of growth, she really helped me by providing education and laying the foundation for appropriate roles and expectations within the relationship between me and the dog. She provided me useful tools to communicate with Max in a way he could understand which helped establish safety for the dog. These have really helped me manage some of his challenging behaviors, like pulling when on a walk, barking uncontrollably for any and everything, jumping up on guests barking and nipping etc. I recently had a mom of one of my daughter's friends over, and she has seen AND experienced first hand the before and after version of Max, and she genuinely exclaimed; ‘It’s a completely different dog!’ And we accomplished this in only 5 sessions! I am proud of both Max and myself for graduating Dianne’s wonderful training program. Beyond her expertise, she is a genuinely lovely and pleasant person to work with. Highly recommend!

Dianne worked really well with our dog and was super accommodating to our schedule and understanding. Winky loved her and retained a lot of information! Overall, she was a huge lifesaver in getting our dog trained quickly.

Excellent trainer we had adopted our dog from a shelter we where struggling with his behavior. Once we had seen the reviews of the trainer we decided to get in touch with her. The training sessions we had did improve our dog behavior. Now we are able to walk him around public without having to bark at people or try to attack dogs. Highly we recommend What a Good dog LA .

If I could give Dianne 6 stars I would! She has been fantastic to work with and a tremendous help teaching my dog basic obedience and providing me with the tools to continue the training. I contacted Dianne because my 4 year old Cavalier was struggling with her basic obedience skills and had a problem with excitement barking. Dianne has a gentle, kind and positive approach and makes the training fun for both pup and owner 🐶 Are you looking for a fantastic dog trainer? do yourself a favor and call Dianne!
