WHAT-A-CANINE LLC

We first reached out to What-a-Canine in 2024 for help with our German Shepherd, Guppy. She had begun resource guarding and thrashing her dog bed as well as our couch. We were out of our depth and needed help getting her behavior under control, as the resource guarding was escalating and making our day-to-day life very difficult. When Anthony came to our home, he observed Guppy's behavior and was able to tell us WHY she was doing what she was doing. He then went to work and within 1 hour, he had fixed the problem that we had been dealing with for months. We couldn't believe it. Almost two years later, that 1 hour of training has still "stuck". We recently decided to book with What-a-Canine again to get help with Guppy's behavior on walks. For years, she has lunged with full force and barked at every single car that drives by us while we walk. We booked the 4 session bundle and like magic, Anthony had corrected her lunging within the first session. In the remaining 3 sessions, we have seen her become proficient at "place" at home as well as out and about, learn to drop things with a single command "out", walk without lunging or barking, and have phenomenal recall on a 100 foot leash. He literally had this dog listening to a "place" command outside right next to a busy road (on a long line for safety!) and she was able to completely disengage from the cars, which used to be her biggest trigger, and go to her "place". We never would have thought she would be capable of that much progress. We also appreciate that Anthony made training a fun experience for Guppy- it felt like she was learning a game and being challenged, not just being taught to be obedient. Anthony helped us understand how to communicate with Guppy so much better. Such a great experience overall! We will definitely be using What-a-Canine for any future training needs! I'm astonished!! I don't know what kind of Houdini tricks are going on inside of y'all's business, but I had to check my dog for markings to be convinced you didn't replace her with well behaved look a like. All we have talked about since she got home, is how good she is! Thank you Anthony and team for helping Biscuit become the dog we knew she could be. You and your team went above and beyond, even keeping her for extra time to be sure she was ready. I can't recommend you enough! 10 stars!!!

I’ve only had two sessions with Anthony so far, but I can’t tell you what a difference it has made! My biggest issue with my puppy was that she wouldn’t get in the car and I’ve had four previous trainers that were great trainers, but it just didn’t happen with them. After just the first session, she will consistently get in the car, which is absolutely amazing for me. What I can say right now is that every issue or concerned that I have brought to him he has been able to address very quickly and it has “stuck“ with my dog!!! He just has a way with dogs IMO! Can’t recommend him highly enough! And just for reference, my dog is a medium sized mixed breed with probably husky or Australian Shepherd so she’s pretty stubborn.
