Well Balanced Dog Training

Meaghen MacDonald and her team at Well Balanced Dog Training literally saved my dog. Like many people we rescued a puppy during the pandemic. She is beautiful and so so sweet but we quickly learned she had some serious behavior issues that were very dangerous. She has anxiety and is a resource protector. We had a few incidents with her early on and did all the typical training and changes we could think of. Sadly she had a serious incident with our other dog that was dangerous for all of us. I called WBDT based on a recommendation and spoke to the lovely Amanda. She setup a meeting with Meaghen, quickly assessing the need to help us quickly. Meaghen came, assessed the situation and took our puppy immediately for board and train. It was hard and scary and she made us all feel better. As a family we needed to modify our behavior in order to keep everyone safe and how Meg taught us made sense and worked to have a safe dog. If we had not found WBDT our sweet girl would not be here. LOVE Meaghen and the whole crew at WBD!!! She’s been helping us with our reactive pup for over a year and a half and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Our little guy was only a few months old when we got him but was already fearful of other dogs. Combine that with a stubborn attitude and it meant lots of anxiety for him and for us. With Meaghen‘s help, our special boy has overcome so much and even has some doggo friends now!!! The first thing we all learned was place, which has been HUGE for us since we have cats, and has reminded our dog that he needs to listen to us. He is so good at place now and continues to thrive. After attending many classes I’ve had the privilege of watching her work literal magic on other dogs too, showing incredible results in just a few classes. Her love for dogs is so apparent in how she works with them. I will be forever grateful to her and the whole team at WBD for giving us the tools to keep our boy safe and give him the fun-filled, happy life he deserves. Meaghan, Gigi, Emma & the rest of the WBDT team are a beacon of hope for dog owners who are struggling with reactive dogs. My Lucy is a nervous golden with dog reactivity that just could not be controlled. Then came WBDT. Lucy is a totally different pup, where she used to cower and shy away from others she now approaches humans curiously and excited. She can tolerate other dogs, and I know eventually we can get to a place where she may even make a few friends. Her reactivity has essentially gone away. I get so many compliments on her behavior.
