We Keep Dogs

I saw so many 5 star ratings along with a few 1 star ratings… I said to myself their experience must’ve been unique… Unfortunately I also received one of those one star experiences. I took my dogs in for Thanksgiving holiday to be boarded. I was asked if I wanted to get them groomed… I said yes I was hoping to get that done as well. They offered me two different options a standard option and a deluxe option… The deluxe option was $100… I explained that it had been a while since they were groomed and they were extremely matted and needed to be shaved. They told me it was better to do the deluxe for $100 each. I said yes I wanted to do that option. When I pick them up they charged an extra $70 because they were Matted and needed to be shaved. I questioned the additional charge because I had stated from the beginning they needed to be shaved. I don’t know if you can tell in the pictures but they’re only partially shaved especially the black and white… I came home and my neighbor was outside and he stated that was the worst grooming he had ever seen any dogs get. If you’re going to charge additional just simply pick up the phone or shoot a text and say hey this is going to cost extra do you want to do it? Don’t assume that people are OK with you adding $70 to what you had already quoted previously. For me it’s just not a good way of doing business. The part I didn’t understand is when the gentleman working said “we were able to save some of the hair” If you’re shaving the dogs why would you attempt to save some of the hair… Either you’re shaving or you’re not.

I was concerned about dropping my dogs off for boarding. Not only had I never left them in a “doggie hotel” before, but my Pit typically does not do well around any other dog but her “roommate.” She gets anxious around other dogs and becomes hard to control. To my joy, and beyond my expectations, both my furry friends were playful and happy when I picked them up from We Keep Dogs. No barking, growling, pulling, or anxious shakes from my Pit. What an awesome experience for them.
