Ward's Dog Training

Wards dog training did a phenomenal job with my dog, Merlot. Merlot did the puppy program at Wards and started the program at 3 months old. I cannot express how much this program helped not only Merlot, but myself on how to navigate training at home and our quality of life together. Merlot is a very high energy Australian Shepherd and he had problems with jumping, manners, leash pulling, and could not settle. Throughout the program, I could see improvement every time I dropped him off and picked him up. During the process, Justin Ward and his team not only trained Merlot, but they gave me all the tools I needed to be successful as his owner. During the program, I received many videos of his training sessions with explanations, photos, and updates along the way. Although it was hard to drop Merlot off at times, it got easier as I could see just how excited and happy he was once he saw the red barn. Merlot is now 9 months old and he is able to walk on a leash without pulling, follow commands, stay at “place” for longer durations with distractions, and keep a down stay for longer durations even if I walk far distances away. Merlot understands “heel” and was able to be successful on starting his off leash training. Merlot is now able to go to public places and is confident in himself and relaxed around numerous distractions. Being able to take Merlot public places with me is such a big deal to me and I never thought it was possible before Wards. Trainers Zoe and Maggie, were so helpful during the puppy program and I was able to have one on ones with both during the program. I learned so much from their knowledge and they answered all of my questions. They prioritized not only showing me his progress, but making sure I understood how to continue training at home. The entire staff at Wards is phenomenal. Their level of care and commitment is unmatched. Every staff member that greeted me from drop off to pick up was kind and helpful. They treat your dog as if it was their own. I have peace of mind when Merlot is at Wards that all his needs are being met above and beyond. Although the puppy program has ended, Merlot will continue to do daycare, day trains, and boarding at Wards. I can’t recommend Wards enough, and it is the only place I will be using for the years to come.

We came to Ward’s with our four year old French Bulldog named Rowdy. He had to learn some behavior skills really fast. I had lost my other French bulldog that we had had for almost 5 years very in a very fast way to cancer, which left us devastated. After that we got another French bulldog and rowdy was not going to have it so we reached out to Wards Dog Training to give rowdy some obedience training. They did a great job Rowdy was very difficult in the beginning and we thought it was going to be impossible to change his ways. They worked very hard on Riwdy and he came home a very changed dog and he finally has accepted the new puppy Bo doesn’t always like him but gives him a run for his money. I would recommend them for anyone who has a difficult case they can handle it. Thanks for all you did.

Justin Ward and his crew did a great job with our dog, Daisy. Daisy is an 8 months old old English Field Spaniel. She was in desperate need of manners. . After three weeks of board and train, Daisy successfully walks on heal, does not bolt at doors, stays in her ‘place’, no longer jumps in people or other pets. Most importantly, she no longer counter or table surfs. And she no longer swipes anything that isn’t hers. We are so relieved to no longer have our glasses or shoes taken and chewed! Daisy was very well cared for. Zoe, Daisy’s trainer, sent me frequent videos detailing Daisy’s progress. Daisy loved Zoe and had fun playing with the other dogs who were being trained. I cannot say enough positive things about Ward's Dog Training! This is the place to take your dog if you are looking for training. My husband and I went for a consultation and we were impressed immediately. After talking it over for a weekend we decided to go through with signing our dog up and it was the best thing we could have done for her. Nesta Marie is a 4 year old American Staffordshire and is the sweetest with people and dogs she knows but strangers she was very nervous about and very reactive to other dogs when she'd go on walks. I had all but given up on walking her because it would become this show of barking and lunging and pulling and it was terrifying and embarrassing. Nesta did the 3 week board and train and I tell you it was so worth it. Honestly I was nervous and scared to leave her for so long. She'd never been away from home for such a long time but I'd do it all over again. Since graduating from her training we have been able to go on nice long walks around the neighborhood. She listens when I tell her to sit or to walk a different direction. She was able to attend an outdoor event with us over the weekend where there were alot of other dogs and people and she was so well behaved. One of the major things I liked about Ward's was that not only do they train your dog but they also do lessons with you and show you how to use the tools they give you so that you can continue to keep up with the training at home. They also offer group classes after completing the training and daycare. Nesta loves going to school to see her friends (the trainers), which says alot because she was so nervous and timid when I first dropped her off there and now she is excited when I tell her she's going to "school" for the day. If there is ever a time I'd need to board her Ward's would be the place I'd trust and feel the most comfortable leaving my baby girl. Like I said I can't say enough about Ward's Dog Training!
