Walk This Way Canine Behavior Therapy

Renee is an absolute master at what she does. Renee came to our home and worked with my family, including two young children, to help train our puppy. From our very first session, our 11-week-old puppy learned new behaviors remarkably fast, and Renee was really helpful in jumpstarting each one. After only a few minutes of her focused time, our puppy understood a new command. Renee then watched us practice with him and gave us tips. As first-time dog owners, Renee suggested specific commands to incorporate into our practice and always explained when to use each. She also flagged areas for us to work on more regularly -- for example, our puppy was growling when being picked up, and she gave us a clear plan for addressing it before it became a bigger issue. Renee also advised us on our general setup and helped with gear questions, from harnesses to toys. When discussing behaviors, she often explained the dog's perspective in specific scenarios, which I really appreciated. Additionally, whenever questions or issues arose during the week, she responded quickly via email with clear and effective solutions. Working with Renee to train our puppy was a fantastic experience. She was incredible with our puppy and also an invaluable resource and support to us.

We got a new Cocker Spaniel in May 2026 and Renee came to our house in Rhinebeck and helped get him off to a good start. We did a few 1 hour weekly sessions with her and then practiced during the training skills during the week. It felt like an unexpected bonus that Renee answered and guided us through all of our new puppy questions and concerns even when not 'on the clock'. We would 100% hire her again in the future and may even ask her to do some boarding down the road when we travel.

We are very grateful to Renee for helping us with our spirited but willful Standard Poodle. Within a few months of weekly sessions, during which she taught us how to take command of his training, we saw tremendous improvement in his impulse control, recall, and basic obedience. Renee is generous with her talent and time. She traveled to our home and worked tirelessly, and gave extra time than expected. She also responds quickly to calls and emails. Ronen enjoyed learning with Renee. She successfully helped him to develop skills that we were struggling to teach him. And she used positive methods. Renee is fun, creative, down to earth, and committed to helping dogs and their family succeed.
