I found Mike and Starla via Yelp 3 years ago. We have 2 Giant Schnauzers. We first boarded the puppies with them and then had them train the dogs. Last week, I had a window repairman over and he was impressed that the dogs stayed on their place while he was there! Our dogs are now big-90 pounds and they are a joy to walk. There is no pulling on the leash even when a squirrel is spotted. Our dogs aren’t perfect but they are a joy to be around. If I ever had a question or issue Mike and Starla have been quick to give guidance. I love when they board the dogs. They get their own fenced in area to roam freely and are kennel led at night. They must have 10 areas for dogs and they are kept separated from the other dogs. Our dogs go crazy to visit Mike and Starla when I drop them off! They are always clean when I pick them up!

I want to be as honest as possible. I had great expectations for this place when I found it and read through the website, but I would not bring my dog here. My first introduction to this place was having dogs aggressively barking at us through a fence. They were belgian malinois's and I'm aware that the breed is notorious for being instinctively protective as I have one myself, but that should not be what visitors are welcomed to. I felt very uncomfortable as well as my dog and my mother. Secondly, there was no one there to greet us. We waited at least 10 minutes for someone to finally arrive, knocked on the door and everything, eventually my mother called and on the balcony we heard the phone ring. No one answered. The dogs barking should have been enough for them to be alerted that someone was here. Where are the two other employees? I read that there was three. When someone finally came out, it was a man with a white dog ( His name is Mike I believe ). We were on the balcony and I called out to say hello, but me and my mom witnessed Mike kicking a dog as he was escorting the white dog out. After we left he texted us that he was trying to prevent a fight, but aren't you a dog trainer? Simply put the other dog in a place and that could have been avoided. Witnessing that trainer kick his dog was our last straw. I was so excited to bring my dog here to learn and interact with new people but was left with dissapointment, this would have been me and my dogs first time boarding too. As they all say expectations lead to dissapointment but not when it comes to bringing an entire life such as a dog to a facility where someone will care for them. Dogs are not objects and are such a huge responsibility, and I feel like more businesses should know that. Standards should be set high for a place that will care for your furbaby well. There were so many other red flags that I witness. I felt nothing but stress from the surrounding dogs and saw a malinois pacing wildly in a circle in a medium sized fenced in yard. Even the trainer looked extremely stressed. He showed much insecurity in text after we left, first insulting us by telling us we should bring our dog to petco instead and calling my dog aggressive because she was wearing a " muzzle. " A muzzle isn't just for aggressive dogs. And my dog wasn't even wearing a muzzle, she was wearing a head halter, it keeps her from pulling on the lead as she gets a little excited when we bring her to new places. I hope this can help someone. I really don't like leaving reviews like this but I felt as I should voice my experience.
