My wife and I had a street rescue foster that we were trying to set up for a good life with a decent family, but she had such terrible anxiety with new people and situations that we were afraid that would hurt her chances of being adopted. After looking into some other trainers we decided on VonBernd for some basic obedience training to hopefully get her out of her shell. By the end of the first session Jake had her heeling with him and she was attentively looking to him for direction. He then helped us get the same results with her. By the third session she was more confident and relaxed than we ever would have dreamed she would be outside the house. Jake and Brian have a great deal of knowledge and advice to assist with any behavior or training needs we had along the way. We were very happy with our decision to have her train at VonBernd.

We took both of our dogs to be trained-one for service training and one for obedience. We cannot speak highly enough of Jake and Brian. They are knowledgeable, patient, and very caring. They listened to our frustrations and concerns and worked with us so well. I’ve always loved my dogs, but I love them so much more after training and I think everyone could benefit from the same!

We decided to take our puppy here for training because they have the best reviews around and came highly recommended. Despite the praises we heard, we were not impressed. While I realize we might have been a unique case, as our puppy has extreme anxiety, Jake and Brian seemed to brush off our concerns and treat us as though we didn’t know what we were talking about. On our last session, we expressed all of our concerns about training and, again, they were brushed off, and we were treated as if none of it could be true. We never returned, and when I told them we would not be returning, they didn’t care that they had lost a customer. So now we are back to square one with a traumatized puppy and out $650, and for what? HIGHLY do not recommend.
