Successful placement of two German shepherds with us. He cares about the dogs by making sure they are re-homed in appropriate family situations. These are rescue dogs from many different situations and Paul gives great advice and training instructions for successful adoption and transitions. With continued support from Paul's life long training, our dogs have done nothing but grow and improve over the past 5 months. We follow his training instructions and they work. Paul is an incredible dog trainer who truly cares about happiness and success in the household. We hired Paul a little over a year ago to help us with our rescue dog Tobi, a Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix. He had been incredibly mistreated in his previous home and was overly aggressive as a result. Within the first few weeks of owning Tobi, he attacked a family member resulting in an ER visit with stitches. We didn’t know if we could train Tobi out of such monstrous behavior. We did our research and decided to call Von Dubinhaus. Paul made time immediately, seeing us multiple times the first week and continuing to make extra time the weeks and months following. If we had a question or concern he always answered our calls and texts. He not only worked on Tobi’s aggression, but on his socialization and basic training as well. He gave our family the tools we needed to be successful. Today we are proud to say that Tobi is doing great, so well in fact we recently adopted another dog! Thank you so much Paul for not only caring about our family, but becoming part of it as well.

Our young Shepherd was great…with us. Unfortunately, she developed some very bad habits over time, and became unpredictable with others, both dogs and people. It was clear we were missing the training mark with her and that all needed help. Enter Paul and Van Dubinhaus LLC. We took our dog to Paul to board and train, and we took our bi-weekly lessons with her there as well. We all had a lot to learn. It’s now been several weeks since our new and improved dog came back home. She is much happier, much better behaved, and easier for us to read. It is clear that we need to continue to provide a consistent structure for her so that she can be, we all can be, successful navigating many situations with confidence. We highly recommend Paul and his Van Dubinhaus method of training. It has made, and will continue to make, a world of difference in our lives.

We were in way over our heads before we found Paul and Von Dubinhaus Dog Training. Our dog, Frankly is a Shepard mix that we adopted from the Humane Society when he was about 4 months old and while he seemed fine when we picked him up, we soon discovered that he had some bad behaviors - basically barking and growling at other people, dogs, cats, cars, etc., which of course made it very difficult to bring him anywhere. We were later told that it was probably due to him not being socialized properly when he was younger? Anyway, we are first-time dog owners and we were reading and trying all sorts of things, but nothing was working. We were at the end of our rope and came very close to returning him the Humane Society - which was very heart wrenching because he was already a “second chance” dog when we adopted him, so bringing him back would likely have been the end for him? We initially tried a different trainer, but she wasn’t much more effective than us - what I learned is that some (clicker) trainers are probably great at teaching your dog to do tricks, but if your dog has behavioral problems then you need a real trainer. Going to Paul was our last ditch effort and in hindsight, it was a fantastic decision. Frankly is now a great companion, gets along great with other dogs, doesn’t give cars a second look, we take him on daily walks with no issues (in fact he’s much better than most other dogs we meet on walks), never barks (although he does give us a warning when someone comes to the property) - it’s a totally night and day difference! One thing that Paul has that most other trainers don’t is his own pack of trained Shepards. When you go to work with him he brings out his other dogs and they help with the training. I’m convinced that that’s a key reason why he’s so effective. Von Dubinhaus also does boarding, so we drop Frankly there whenever we’re on vacation - we’re comfortable leaving him there, he knows Paul, and I think he remembers some of his “friends” there - it’s probably like camp for him. I highly recommend Paul.

Paul is a wonderful, patient dog trainer. My 7 year old Shepard mix, Savannah, had serious socialization issues. I couldn't take her out in public because she would become incredibly aggressive around other dogs. About 10 weeks ago, I hired Paul to help me get Savannah socialized, and in that time, the work he has done has been amazing. Savannah can now be around the dogs at his facility without being muzzled or needing a correction (citronella) collar. I am very grateful for the the hard work and dedication Paul has shown to Savannah. He is truly a gifted trainer.
