Joe Aumann & Vom Seymour Kennels; I recently completed a two day training course with Joe and to say that I am pleased with the success would be an understatement. Joe as a trainer is the complete package; from 1st training facility and grounds to the wealth of knowledge on all aspects of building the complete hunting dog. This would include, obedience, upland hunting steadiness to wing, shot and fall as well as waterfowl search and blind retrieval. Joe is the consummate professional with a no nonsense and proven approach to dog training. Joe introduced my Deutsch Drahthaar Edjer and I to upland field work and when we discovered an issue on retrieving, Joe quickly assessed the root cause and initiated a path to correct the problem. I was in search for a life long hunting companion that will also make me really proud in the field, a great bird dog. After years of searching I came across Joe Aumann with Vom Seymour Kennels. Joe Aumann is a second to none trainer, recognized by the Drahthaar community for his skills, one that was not only able to match us with a great dog, but trained him to become a versatile, docile and steady hunting partner, which is so much more than what we thought we could ever have in one dog. I had heard Joes name mentioned numerous times in the hunting dog groups I’ve been involved with. Decided to spend some a day watching him work with my dog. After doing so I decided to leave my dog with Joe for a couple of months. Joe kept me informed throughout with videos, calls and texts the entire time. When I came to pick up my dog, Joe spent a few hours with me going over everything he had done and showing me how to be a better handler and trainer myself. I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience and with how well behaved my dog is now. Joe has continued to help me progress with some of my own training. I now consider Joe a friend.
